Reshafting Callaway Diablo Octane driver

My brother-in-law found a Diablo Octane driver with the shaft broken just above the ferrule/adapter. I'm guessing I'd need to get a replacement ferrule for it, but any tips for taking it apart? I have a puller and torch -- just haven't done anny of these Callaways with the funky ferrules

I’m not sure on the Ferrule but if there’s not enough shaft to grip with your pulled I’d just drill it out. Should be a .350 tip shaft if I remember correctly. Once you get it out inspect the top of the hosel area and see if it requires a collared ferrule.

colej It has that goofy ferrule, not an adapter. iirc, it's similar to the old Wilson Fatshaft type. PITA

There's not enough shaft, but I have one of those Golfworks screw-in things that works about half the time, so I'll give that a try first. I ordered a couple of the Cally collared ferrules from Billy Bob's, so they're on the way. I'll drape a soaked towel over it, since I know a lot of the head is carbon and not titanium. I'll hope for the best. If I destroy it, it didn't cost us anything.

Yeah, I always avoided this era of Cally drivers because they seemed like more trouble than they were worth. 6-7 years ago, 2nd Swing, Global, or Quickship was blowing out a bunch of the Callaways and I was bidding on some of the 11.5 and 13.5 higher loft ones. Didn't get any since I was too cheap -- wanted one less than $50 shipped and they were going more like $55-60. Must've bid on 60 different ones in one week 😆 I don't know what I would've done if I won a dozen of them -- wasn't thinking that far ahead.

ptjn1201 The heads are great, it's just that ....'thing', the shaft is sticking through! 😄

I still have the Diablo Tour Octane 3 & 5 in the bag, and once had the Tour driver. Can't beat them.

The head is well worth it, if you can figure out the 'system' of re-shafting. I've never pulled one, but it always looked to me like that ferrule goes way down to the bottom; may be hard to find a good fit now. Hopefully, I'm wrong and it's not as it appears on surface.

The ferrule seems to have a long, stepped "collar," that I guess fits down pretty deep into the bore. I'll hope for the best [https://www.billybobsgolf.com/product/callaway-wood-ferrule/]
