At this point - I wouldn't mind if I never heard from either Brooks or Bryson ever again. The media can't/won't leave it alone - just keeps stoking it. I fully anticipate that their story, whatever it evolves to be by that time, will be a non-stop on-air topic of conversation and overshadow/detract from the Ryder Cup (for me). Maybe Thunderdome had it right ... "Two men enter, one man leaves".

Stu1961 I don’t know what all the rules/ tradition is for choosing the Ryder Cup participants but Stricker could do the team and us viewers at home a favor by informing Brooks and Bryson that they are persona non grata in the team room and to just stay home for that weekend, and pick some replacements.

My gripe with Bryson isn’t his lack of a filter. I think he’s a little off and that’s okay. My gripe is that he doesn’t seem to know how to really golf. I figured that eventually he’d get screwed up badly enough that he would fade away. We’ll see.

I’m getting to like Rahm and Morikawa. They are golfers.

I've always thought that, even said it a few times out loud. No one....... no one, is going to go out and overpower any golf course, and make it play THEIR way. No one! He is not the longest hitter out there; it is proven every week. I see Louis 'casually' hit a 275 yd. fw shot this a.m., and it's over the green. Then he tees off with what looked to be a hybrid, on a Long Par 5. On in 2 and eagled it! Bryson has nothing on anyone out there. But, they certainly got a lot over on him. They....know how to play the game, as it needs to be.

That's the great thing about golf - there is no one right way to play the game. There have been plenty of major winners and successful players who hit it further than most (DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson and Koepka recently, but Nicklaus and Woods were seriously long at their peaks, and there have been other occasions where someone has simply overpowered the golf course, like Daly's USPGA win in 1991), but also shorter hitters who find other ways to score (Spieth and Morikawa are average at best when it comes to distance, Zach Johnson and Weir showed that you don't need to bomb it to win the Masters, and Faldo and Langer were great without hitting the long ball).

I like the guy's moxie at times... at other times he seems like Patrick Reed's little (albeit bigger) brother. Players who make it a habit to dis their sponsors also make it a habit to struggle finding new ones.

I wish ANY golfer the best of luck finding equipment that can control an out-of-control golf swing. Most tour pros already know this, at least the ones who find more than just a season or two of 'can't-miss' success. Perhaps Rickie can get him on the advertising circuit if his experimentation becomes his undoing.

This judge gives Rory only a 4.3 for the club toss. The frustration that led to it was his own unforced error; a shitty swing with an iron in his hand and missing the fairway by 15+ yards. Points were subtracted for his (and any other players that feel the impulse) example and now casual hacks around the world thinking it is acceptable.
