DonM Yeah it’s uglier than I hoped. So the problem is that it’s sized to use two 5/4 deck boards as treads. I can re-do them and add risers. I’ll have to rip a third plank to make the top tread deeper to account for the riser there. And I don’t have a router to round the ripped edge. Not to mention I’ll have to rip the risers. Crap.
How about removing the treads, take the stringers loose and cut off 3/4" or 1" off the upper end of the stringers then reinstall. That way you can use the same treads and add riser boards.
