Maltby CER irons

Anyone hit them and have any opinions on them? I bought Propmans TE forged set and got a set of cer 851 hs irons on the way. My first maltby clubs ever. Been playing pings for quite some time. I’m bored with my game and equipment so just experimenting. Looks like they discontinued that at some point. I’m getting the component itch again

These are a large forgiving iron that will have a longer blade length than most heads. As long as you’re ok with the overall size you’ll love them.

Nope. He got the Integras. I have not heard any feedback from the guy I built the CER'S for. No complaints so they must be ok.

I built a set of CERs a LONG time ago when they first came out. I remember them being a typical game improvement head with typical Maltby quality. No OMG status, but no real cons.

I think Rex @Par4QC has some CERs.

LBlack14 Yeah, 851UM. Great looking heads. A little longer heel-toe than most heads; not an oversized look at all. Probably similar to the newer Cobra iron heads(but I've not seen them in hand, only pics).
Cannot speak to anything but the looks as I've not hit them; they are in on consignment locally.

I've always liked the Maltby irons. Still have a set of CER heads collecting dust. Very solid and forgiving cast head IMO.

The 851UM irons are impressive, forgiving with a thin topline. I played them for a few years before passing them on to my BIL who still games them.

The UM and HS are different heads. The HS is a larger, wider sole.
