Here's an interesting tidbit that I found out by testing different bags. Best push cart bags are what are termed ladies golf bags in the golf industry as they are shorter by in inch or so and fit better on push carts and clubs extend out slightly more which to me doesn't mean they are not protected but more easily arranged and can be pulled out of bag and put back in place. Either way unless you use iron headcovers you are going to have some bag chatter on your irons which for me isn't a big deal. Organizer bags other than iron headcovers is the only way not to have some bag chatter. This would be especially true for shorter golfers to easily access clubs. So don't be put off by the term ladies golf bag if you are a guy as they are more easily used and lighter.

I got a hold of a Sun Mountain Eco-Lite ladies bag to test for an on-line business. I compared the SM Eco-Lite ladies bag vs. a Wishon cart bag regular size both 14 slots full length dividers. The SM Eco-Lite very light under 5 lbs (most cart bags are 8 lbs and up) which when you are pushing a cart for 18 holes adds up that is if you don't load it down. The Walking Golfer Society has a theory that the more pockets the bag has the more stuff you will carry which I think is true. https://thewalkinggolfer.com/ Go thru your bag every few weeks and you will pull out balls found on course you will never use and other crap over rounds that you have deposited there.

scotts33 - good tip, Scott. I'm in the process to find a new golf bag so I'll expand my search. I was always under the impression ladies' bags were either pink or gayazz blue in color but I've never paid much attention.

There really are not bags "made" for push carts as the organization of the clubs and slope of the top is the wrong way. Wedges/short irons on the top and driver/woods on the bottom when flipped around for pushing. A stand bag would work better as it stands the same direction as a push cart is pushed and the clubs are organized correctly (of course there is the issues of the legs to deal with).....or find more of a neutral/flat top cart bag. My Clic Gear 3.0 and Wellzher TE Cart bag are the best two golf related purchases I've made for reasons stated above. Of course I have the same problem when loading on a riding cart as those cart riders do loading in a push cart....but no biggie as that's 90 - 10% split.

So true.....can also impact the ease of club sliding in and out of the bag. I typically carry my bag cover (covers the whole bag with hood), umbrella attachment, rain pants, rain gloves. The cover is bulky enough where it can rub into the bag and make it clunkier to get clubs out so I now keep it and rain pants in the car and only put in the bag if necessary! I'm still playing on found balls from the spring😎

Many ladies bags do come in weird color configurations. The one I have is neon green/dark green combo and testing is a Sun Mountain Eco-Lite made by the company Repreve which is recycled plastic bottle material. I don't mind the color. Some may think it's too loud.

My irons which are .25" over std. length stick out about 1" over a std. Wishon cart bag which to me doesn't mean they aren't protected just easier to pull out use and get back in the slots. At least that's what I have found.

JMO but the two cart bags that I have used this spring/summer are very good on my Quik-Fold 3 wheel push cart. I don't see the issues that others mention but I am also coming from a carrying/walking perspective so I am not as ingrained as some other walking golfers. I think this issue you bring up Chad is more much ado about nothing. I am sure there are cart bags like the SM C-130 that suck on push carts. The majority of lighter cart bags that are designed by reputable manufacturers I don't think have that issue. The key is to try a bag on your push cart before purchase so you can see angles and how it would play not ALL push cart are created equal either. Covid changed the golf industry in so many ways.

Similar to your bag, I like a bag that has an external tube for the putter, makes it easier to grab rather than fishing around the other short irons.

But, I have my bag setup opposite from yours. I have driver & woods (long shafted clubs) on top, long irons / hybrids in the middle row, and short irons / wedges in the bottom row so that the shafts of longer clubs are protected from the club heads of shorter shafted clubs above them. Yes, my setup is awkward when I'm riding but that doesn't happen too often, I prefer to walk unless a cart is mandatory.

The best pushcart bag I ever used was the Izzo Element from the early 2000's. It wasn't too big or heavy nor have too many pockets. The top was the best thing about it, think the Ogio Woode top in reverse-iron slots on the left(as you face the bag on the cart), woods on the right with an external putter tube(which probably wouldn't fit many of todays oversized grips). I used the one I had until it literally wore out. I have emailed Izzo annually for 10yrs to bring it back but no luck so far.

bogeypro that's exactly how I have it (above pic is not my setup)...tallest clubs away from the cart, middle irons/hybrids in the middle and shortest are closest to the cart. I do use two iron covers to prevent chatter, so essentially every other club on the bottom row is protected. 5 dih is tall enough where it does not hit the clubs below as are the hybrids , which I use covers for all hybrids, fwy, and driver. Putter and SW go in the side tubes. I think I have 16 slots total.

Top row. 3w - D - 2h
Middle row. 4h - 5di
Bttm. GW - PW - 7 - 9 - 8 (staggered)
Side tubes. SW - Putter (basically in line with middle row but sit far enough on the outside of the bag where they don't make contact with any other club)

Yes, our setups are similar. I do it more to protect shafts than club faces though I have to admin I use covers on all clubheads, including irons. Guess I just don't like the constant racket irons make slapping against each other for 4+ hours. My bag has an absolute forest of clubhead covers on the driver, fairway woods (3, 5 7), and hybrids (3, 4, 5). A bit of overlap there but somedays I can't hit fwd's consistently and some days I can't stop hooking hybrids into another ZIP code.

Weird, I guess the two bags I have used this year don't let irons chatter much. I don't hear any chattering or see the issues others mention.

Bag chatter that I see are from carry bags where you would have 5-6 irons in a bottom slot hanging over the edge clanking other irons/wedges. Cart bags don't seem to have this issue of bag chatter when on a push cart with a 14 slot full length divider cart bag.

Personally, I have never liked the taller clubs in middle or front of bag on a push cart so you have to go around them to get to irons/wedges. I think the way Chad's pic is fine the only issue is the push cart handle to is too high for easy push and in the way. If it's my push cart I drop the handle 2 notches to get just above my waist 6' guy. Handle is out of way of clubs also. The SM Eco-Lite top that I have is more slanted than the Wishon cart bag. Sun Mountain has the golfer in mind when they design.

The iron chatter I hear comes as a result of the public courses me & my buddies play. No irrigation beyond the greens, drainage channels cut along (and across) fairways that create racket when you cross them & can give you some horrible lies too.. Some holes are so rough & uneven it's not much different (in feel & sound) to pushing a loaded cart across a stone parking lot.

I arrange my clubs in the manner I described the Izzy Element bag was laid out. this bag is a Ping Traverse, original model.

Walterjn I know some people will find this appalling, others will find it surprising, and yet others, will think nothing of it, but................every single one of those clubs are owned somewhere else in the U.S., and Canada! 😲🤣
