Jelopster My wife is just getting into the game and I got her a half set of the Ashton x-launch’s from DTG. She is able to launch them way better then a standard iron. They pair great with the budget friendly Grafalloy Prolaunch Super Charged shafts https://www.diamondtour.com/golf-clubs/irons/ashton-x-launch-golf-clubs.html https://www.diamondtour.com/golf-components/club-shafts/grafalloy-prolaunch-super-charged-50-lady-iron-shaft.html
Rickochet sdandrea1 Who started this thread? I'm hitting skinny-soled forgings again. 🤪 I thought that you only had one set of irons left? Oh, I forgot. That was yesterday. 🤣
fatshot sdandrea1 Wow....sweet looking, but a far cry from the I-Drive hybrid irons!!! How are you hitting 'em?
scotts33 sdandrea1 Finally got to some purist golf clubs. The KZG DS-2 blade is great. Saguto is good if you can buy in whole hog and follow thru. Stack and Tilt works but your head has to wrap around the concept. Many can't. I do believe the golf concepts that are more centered over the ball lend themselves to playing more purist kinds of clubs. Those that come off the ball will need more "help" from equipment. Soon you will be playing persimmon and blades with your 8802 style putter! ☺
sdandrea1 fatshot Wow....sweet looking, but a far cry from the I-Drive hybrid irons!!! How are you hitting 'em? Amazingly and surprisingly well. Tom Saguto lessons! The damn feel and sound is addictive. They're shredding feathers on my golf balls.
sdandrea1 scotts33 Finally got to some purist golf clubs. It's funny. I can't figure out why I'm so attracted to them. Maybe it's the challenge? I do LOVE that sound/feel when it's center-struck and the ball bites the green.
rsvman2 sdandrea1 The best part about the ball biting the green is that it means your shot actually hit the green. That is something I am really concentrating on this season.

For me it's the challenge. Not that golf is not way more challenging than many activities. What I have found with smaller club head size is the old axiom aim small miss small is true. It's not that hard to play a 195cc persimmon driver head teed down and make a nice pass and put it out there middle of fairway as one tends to accept their realities that they can't bomb it 300 yards so I tend to swing within myself and play accurate golf rather than all over the place. It's me vs the course and I keep tabs of solid impacts and play from the correct tee box. The click off persimmon is addictive.
scotts33 sdandrea1 Well, they look really good in the bag, too! There is that and they lend themselves to Minimalist golf. I'll have to start a different thread.
raggmann54 sdandrea1 Well, if they are anything like the hybrid irons will they be $12 shipped on Monday??? Asking for a friend…😁
sdandrea1 raggmann54 Well, if they are anything like the hybrid irons will they be $12 shipped on Monday??? Actually you guys missed out. I sold both sets of hybrid irons for more than I had invested. 😉
