Got lucky, again, last night. Storms were supposed to hit but temps stayed way lower than forecasted in the afternoon(64 vs. 80). Thus the 'boundary' moved a little South of where it was supposed to be. Nasty goingson all around us, South & even North, but right here was relatively calm, just a bit of rain. Baseball sized hail was reported(saw some pics) and 1 killer tornado to the East, wiping out another town.
A weird/strange thing about this area....we have 2 rivers that meet on the West side of the Quad Cities. I've seen various severe storms approaching directly, only to see them diverted when reaching that juncture. Watching radar last night, I saw this again. Diverted a little South and it was the cell that had that tornado in it. Never touched down locally, but was being shown on the weather as it passed the area.
