Quite a bit less comparing to my kids ballooned tuition payments and my injury a couple of years ago.
I used to play 65-80 rounds a year locally plus a few trips out of State.
Now I'm down to maybe 30-35 rounds and shopping for the bottom deal from Golfnow.

I might have to pick up a moonlighting job just to see if I could make the monthly payments less painful. Not a lot that a senior citizen could do. Maybe I'll lease a Prius and drive Uber.
Tax man proposed additional category for local tax and the utility bills jumped 30%..... I will work until I go meet my maker.

    My God did it SUCK out today. Snow and freezing rain all day. Had to start work at 4 am...working outside all day until 6 pm.

    Planned a so k sT tomorrow to do yard work...leaves I never got to last weekend but for now the leaves are buried. Save the sick day for another day this week. Still plan on trying to pick up an M2 demo driver and email Ace if clubs for a fitting date.

    Got to play with a buddy today. It was in the upper 30's when we started with intermittent sun. Crawled into the lower 40's about halfway through, and then back down to where it started. Glad to get to play today. the high Thursday is supposed to 25*.

      **** that! Oh man I hate playing in the cold.

        I don't care much about playing in the cold, but it gets us out of the house and gives us some exercise. We don't expect to shoot normal scores, just go out and hit the ball and enjoy being outside regardless of the weather.

          Played the 4 days before Turkey day, 3 of them were low 30,s.....I quite like playing when it's cold....but not when the greens freeze. Played with a prov1x for most of the round or a z star.. ...if you don't like the cold then don't go play golf in the cold, prolly gonna be miserable. I look at it as a challenge. Hell wed. Before Turkey day was 40 and raining and cart paths only....ugh, I almost turned back when I was half way there, but glad I did not as I got a lot of good laughs and played good considering...played last Thursday and Saturday and it was mid 30,s both days but the greens were still soft enough to accept a ball....i move up a tee on certain holes to make it more reasonable, wear the right clothes, and don't take it too serious and generally find I play some of my best golf.

          When I lived in New Jersey for a few years from '07-'10 I was a member of a pretty large group of guys that played. Twice I went out w/some of them in 9* weather to play our course for the reasons you outlined. Have to do some crazy stuff to play in that kind of conditions. One guy brought an ice pick w/him so he could get a tee in the ground. I just bought one of those rubber tees like you see in driving range mats. Wearing ski gloves between shots and guys playing in balaclavas looking like they just robbed a bank or something. You can play a game with golf clubs and golf balls in those conditions but you aren't playing golf. We were all walkers too!

              Low land snow yesterday and possibly Thursday morning with accumulation, which we had not had for maybe 4 years now. Frost and freezing rain and hail were common in the low lands ( below 500' elevation ) We've always had snow in the mountain ranges, low land accumulation is a possibility. Looking at the high temperature of yesterday's 38° F vs. the same day of last year's temperature of 45° F. It'll be much colder this year.
              Into the high 20's this morning and tomorrow morning, lots of black ice and frozen ground.

              Time to do some long delayed chores on the list. Just replaced a piece of dry rot frame of a window a couple of days ago before the snow and the sleet. Maybe I'll pull the shafts from the DCT and the db 455 later on today when I'm back too cold to do anything outdoors.

              Instead of an ice pick I took a golf ball, drilled a hole into it and epoxied a nail the width of a tee into the ball. Push or screw the nail into the ground and you have a perfect hole to place the tee. No golf today or tomorrow, we got snow overnight and today we have large fluffy snow flakes coming down. Tomorrow a high of 38 low of 25 overnight. We play a scramble since it is goofy golf. We also walk and youngest player will be 70 next year.

                The expected wintry mix heading toward Northeast PA has lost some of its steam, mainly because of the temps being too warm for anything significant to materialize. With highs forecasted in the mid-upper 40's tomorrow with clear skies and light winds, at least one more round of golf in 2016 looks somewhat promising.

                You folks are crazy for playing in those temperatures! :-)

                  It helps that I'm not paying out of pocket because of my membership. Otherwise I would probably be a lot more finicky about the weather, especially considering I'm generally averaging 90-100 rounds per year and can pretty much play whenever during the season.

                  But having lived in the Northeast for going on 17 years now, I've learned that you either tolerate being uncomfortable and take advantage of the ability to get out or you simply put the clubs away from mid-December through til about mid-April. A lot of guys do, but I need to get out of the house. I'm very familiar with seasonal depression, and staying snowed-in during bad winters sure doesn't help!

                    Here on Hilton Head, SC it's in the 60's and cloudy. Only about 2/3 of our courses have reopened since the hurricane, so the open ones are really crowded.

                      Didn't play today. Took the dogs out last night and the ground was covered with slush, although it had melted shortly after the sun came up this morning. Too muddy. Cart-path only. Plantar Fasciitis.

                      Oh well.

                      Fecking snow....really hadn't planned on the season being over. Crap.

                      Only good thing was my streak of zero rounds over par this year remained intact.

                      I played Eagles Point on my way back from the Florida, not on HHI of course but close enough to be affected by the hurricane. Very nice shape and the crew did a heck of a job to remove a bunch of trees!

                        Did not play today either. It was 32 at 11am with wind 5-8 mph. Not high wind, but with the wind chill it was about 27 or lower. I used to play in that weather, but not any longer. No sun today so no play today. Friday it will be a high of 50* so we will be out playing in mid 40's weather. I hate sitting in the house all day. The wife and I shot pool in the house. We have real nice table in the family room. Often when we play pool we pour a glass of wine and have some chocolate with it.
