Bent tip...

Can a bent tip be straightened? If so how can I do it safely? It is a KBS tour shaft in an AP2 6 iron. I have already pulled the shaft.

Yes. Easiest way is to replace it. Shafts are cheap. 😉

Try heating it with a heat gun on the low setting and then clamp it in a shaft clamp and gently bend it straight.

There is actually some potential bodily harm here. These shafts just don't bend and fold over like a soda straw. If you start yanking them around they can suddenly come apart in very sharp and jagged pieces. You can get a whole set of new shafts for less than your co-pay at the ER.

This...I had a set of C-Tapers that were all bent. I sent an email to KBS with pics and they sent me out a new set (in a bit stiffer flex). Great company to deal with, but moved on since as Ode said, this is a common issue with them.

Rickochet Yep, shafts are thin hardened steel; they'll crack if bent past a certain point. And may crack if bending back to straight. And that's a .355 tip, so it's stiffer yet.

This is why I'm looking for that BiMatrx shaft. Tip is bent right at hosel......garbage.

Can't believe the cheap bastages we got on here. 🤣

Pull the shaft and use it as a tomato stake.

It'll never be as strong as it was new and will likely snap at an inopportune time. Why risk it?

Reshaft and be happy!

Okay I get the picture. I have an old S300 taper I can use. The guy is cheap. Not me.
