I want to try using graphite as a putter shaft. Easy enough if I used a plumbers neck, but I prefer flow neck or double bend putters. I wanted to cut the shaft however many inches up and insert a graphite shaft. Still easy enough, my only concern is that even if I sand the tip of the steel well and take out any sharp edges, that there may still be failure down the road from rubbing on the graphite. Then again, it is only a putter shaft and I typically don't tee off with my putter so I don't expect there to be much stress on it.
I am decently handy, but somewhat limited in the tools on hand. Any thoughts, suggestions, comments would be welcome.
Thanks!
