Anybody who can bend drivers?

I didn't realize this was so specialized but I guess it is. Contacted a couple local Wishon dealers here and neither can bend the 919 THI, have to send it in to Diamond or order a new one. Anybody know a club builder who can bend woods?
The one guy wanted $275 for the Wishon head with his cheapest shaft option. While I think it would work for me, if it doesn't resale value is virtually nil. With a decent shaft I'd be over 3 bills. Man, I hate that I lost my Wishon account when they sold out.
I'm absolutely loving my Wishon 919 that I'm playing now but it's only 8* and I'm too old for that little loft now, plus the only R shaft I had to put in it is only at a finished length of 43" so it's not very long, but a fairway finder.
Are there really enough people out there paying over $300 for a wishon driver to keep them in business? Although now I guess they're just part of a larger component company, but still.

You can buy almost any of the new OEM heads for $300 or less, esp. Cobra & TM, and almost all adjust both ways now; lofts/lies.

Face angle and to a lesser degree lie. I have a Ping G400 Max and I have the face open and the lie as low as it will go and I still draw/hook it. I really think it's the shaft . Have a stouter shaft on the way so we'll see.
I'm currently playing a Wishon 919 with a 1* open face, but it's only 8* loft from my younger days. I can not hook that thing to save my life , it's either mostly straight or a little fade. It really is as close to point and shoot as any driver I've hit. But the 8* loft has me leaving yards on the table. The same setup in 10* would be absolutely money for me, I believe.
I've had multiple adjustable drivers and I've never really seen much change in ball flight from opening the face. Probably because even though the face is open they're still built with some internal draw bias. But the Wishon according to Tom is neutral weighted internally and I think that's what makes the difference.
So while I think that's likely my nirvana driver I hate to put out some $300 for one without being able to hit it first. Especially since the resale value is virtually nil. I can buy a used one on ebay though and would be glad to pay $50, $75 whatever to have it bent to my specs.

Just an FYI you need the modification kit that fit Wishon heads. I use and MR3 True Blue l/l machine. This is way beyond a hobbyists needs. Unsure if GW has the pop-in pieces these fit Wishon heads.

or maybe not use ribbed grips, or use a 360 grip and open the face at address, if you think you need it so badly.
I never saw the need for bending woods for the average hacker.

That just never works for me. Seems to me you'd never hold it open the same amount each time. So one time you have it 1* open, then 4* or so, just seems real inconsistent. I suppose you could take it out and hit it and mark the grip or shaft where you had it on good hits and then install a grip with alignment markers in that orientation so you always had it in the same place. I don't see it as any different than guys using offset clubs to help a slice.

This is true with all OEM products now. They must think everyone is a slicer, which used to be the main problem years ago; not so much now, from what I see on courses. it has turned into a 'hookfest' out there, probably caused by those damned 'OEM spec' shafts, too weak in all flexes. I use Sr. flex, with extended length drivers, and do have to be careful of hooks. I could(probably should) play the R, but these feel too good to give up. And, they make me control my swing, esp. when I have the want to play Hulk on the tee. Mind control shafts, I'd say.

If you watch Justin Rose, you'll see it is all in the swing. He's as wild as any of them, even to the left, and his driver is(supposedly) 6* open with XS shaft.

Par4QC Like I say, It's obviously a swing fault but if I can fix it by buying a new driver I'm all in. I'm too old to practice I just want to go out and play. It's truly amazing, that Wishon is unhookable for me. I can swing as hard as I want and shots that would be so far left in the woods with the Ping are just a little draw at most. But the 8* and short shaft are costing me yards. Might lengthen it an inch or so and see how that goes.

Went to Golf Galaxy to try some new drivers out and believe I was coming from the inside, but not sure how much. I've tried coming OTT cutting across the ball to try and get a slice and all I do is pull hook it into the woods.

you need to simplify what you’re doing. If you think of it in a baseball terms:
you’re swing path is probably going straight at second base but your face is closed and going towards the short stop (when you pull hook it). You need to be swinging towards the second baseman with the face closing towards the second base (for a draw)

garyt1957 Sounds like you are chasing your tail, Gary. It's not the shaft. Can you weaken your grip? I know it can be easier said than done.

Also, go to MGS and read the various years of driver COG and MOI reports. Look at the heel toe graph in each year. Find a driver on the far left and try that one. It matters for me at least. I have an M4 and M4 Draw. The difference in the two heads is about 20 yards left to right. If I played a driver that was on the left side of that chart, I would hit it off the planet to the right.
