scotts33 Gary--- How about get the correct loft for what you desire, tee ball correct height for your desired trajectory and use a square face angle driver? Dial face open get your alignment set for fades, dial face closed set alignment for draws?
No consistency. Nobody can open the face the same amount every time. It's impossible. Now you could put the grip on so the alignment marker on the grip when held has the face open, that would be consistent. But your still fighting the internal draw bias of most heads. I have a G400 Max set wide open and still draw it.
You're right, the pro's do it the way you suggest, I'm no pro.
I have a Wishon 949MC that is 1* open and is very neutral bias internally. I can set up normally and hit a fade with that every time, no moving feet, body lines, etc. That's what I'm looking for in a newer model. No different then someone playing an offset head to help their ball flight.
