But they do.
Today I played a set I tried last winter and didn't care for at the time. Virtually new Acer XV Pro heads on stiff flex UST iRN shafts. I had at least 3 short irons dance on the green. One was was a SoftFeel surlyn ball, one was the TM Project (a), and one I am not sure. This never happens to me. And the greens were pretty firm, I barely made ball marks.
I was hitting them pure but I hit enough shots pure with other irons that, if I was getting this kind of spin, I would have seen it. So how is it possible?
And could the sole design have any effect on spin? I've seen wedge fitting videos where the bounce affects the spin quite a bit. These soles are a little different than what I normally play.
