Anybody else mess around with this stuff?
Been redesigning our living room projection set up the last couple weeks.
What started out as a golf simulator quickly became a better tv....at least I thought it was good.
Doing a little research at the university of Youtube,I came to the conclusion that our Optoma GT1080
was mounted way too high above the screen and that the screen itself wasn't providing the optimum
picture quality.
This is what transpired the last couple of weeks:
The old sim set up
New mount to bring the projector lower so the Keystone could be zeroed
Decided to paint the wall instead of using a screen, so I made a test panel to experiment with
Then I had to remove the orange peel texture on the wall and smooth out the surface with a skim coat
MAJOR PITA!
Sprayed the wall with a blend of different water based paints
Built a box for storing DVD's ect
The finished screen set up
Picture quality is like night and day from before and 3D movies are mind blowing now!
