I think what Stanley Milgram showed is the biggest danger to society. People's inability to know what is right or wrong in and of themselves. Abdicating that responsibility under the guise of authority or the old "I don't know, so I'll just trust what this perceived authority figure has to say". Bascially, I'll just follow orders because that's what I'm told to do. Better be 100% sure those you're following are telling you what is right and true.
We don't teach people how to think. We teach people not to think but rather to follow whatever their allegiances are and then push them further in whatever direction they're already going. Polarizing them more and more and more until they've completely lost their humanity altogether.
I would offer this example from the forum:
Think about what Aaron likely asks if we aren't in a pandemic where someone is scared to death for their own safety. What does a normal person do when told a story like this? A normal person offers care and concern for THEM. Read the response. The response was solely focused on "ME". Basically, please tell me they weren't vaccinated so I don't have to worry this could happen to me, because that's all I care about. I don't care about someone who has 24 hours to determine whether they live or die. At no point, does Aaron ever ask Gary how his relatives are doing, nor does he care. He's too worried he's going to catch COVID because that is how he's been programmed taking his humanity from him and he's not even aware.
This illustrates a loss of humanity predicated on being pushed to a place through messaging where you no longer have compassion. You are so fear driven that YOU are the ONLY thing that matters. The further application of this idea and its implications are downright scary.
Learn to think so you can't be prompted by stimuli to be molded in a way someone wants you to be molded. Retain your humanity. Don't lose it.
No question, RIGHT NOW, this is the biggest issue facing mankind today.
