One thing about playing down south that I have since struggled with after moving to the Northeast and making the trip down to Myrtle (and Florida on occasion) is Bermuda. I generally adjust to the greens within a round or so, but the tight Bermuda lies around the greens are an entirely different story.
That stuff is wiry, almost like pitching off of compacted steel wool. The least bit heavy, and it's chunk-city. Generally speaking my short game is pretty solid. But I have experienced the humiliation of a few TC Chen moments playing down that way.
It definitely takes some getting used to.
