Played it years ago. Course was in nice shape, especially for the hot and humid July conditions. But just as you said - nothing really stood out as memorable. I've played several TPC courses over the years and honestly I don't get the hype. I think Tidewater might be a better layout and not nearly as expensive. Also enjoyed the Granddaddy Course after the redo about 10 years ago.
Favorite course down that way is Caledonia. Beautiful, not overly long, but a really good challenge. Played that one and True Blue. True Blue was okay. Caledonia is a bit pricey, but worth playing once.
Haven't been down to Myrtle in well over a decade. Might have to give it another go here in the next year or two.
