At former club during a bad putting round after about 16 holes I calmly removed my putter from the bag and dropped in the river as we crossed the bridge. I was calm all the way. Putted out with the back of my one Iron. Yes a one Wilson Staff FG 13 one iron. It had a very flat back............LOL
We were laughing about it over drinks and one of my buddies kids was there with his friend (12-13 years old) and he asked if he went swimming to get it, could he keep it? I looked at his Dad. His Dad said fine. You two go together. They did, he came back a bit later. Wet and with the putter. An old Bullseye. It was his..........LOL
I knew a guy that pitched his 5 wood in a pond and after the round and a few drinks, he paid a caddie to go swimming and get the club back for him.
Another good story goes around at Medina CC. Guy gets so mad t playing so bad, that as they are crossing a bridge over a river he tells the caddie to set his bag down. The guy throws the entire bag it in the river and storms off the course. The caddie stands there dumbfounded. The guys playing partner says to the caddie. He threw the clubs away if you dive in and get them, they are yours. Caddie does it and comes up with the clubs. The member says I will buy those clubs from you for $100. The caddies says yes. The guy buys them.
Later at the bar, after a few drinks with his buddy, the guy says he was stupid to do that and how can he get his clubs back? His buddy tells him the story. The guy says you mean I owe you $100 for my clubs? His buddy says no but I will sell them to you for $200. He paid and they kept drinking.
