Sonartec Stuff

I seem to recall back on FGI that Sonartec was popular for their FWs.

Been looking at their stuff on eBay. See they actually had drivers, too.

Those drivers came stock with Penley shafts, at least the one I'm eyeing. Anyone with shaft knowledge know how that compares to something like a Graphite Design YS 8.1? That had an MSI of 70.

Also, any general thoughts on their stuff? Been adding golf stuff back to my eBay watchlist and usually delete after a few days. It'll take just one day, that goes well, for me to get hooked again and I kinda fear that. 😂

PREACH! But, this fear comes with a cost like any other. This one's monetary. I recall what my golf obsession did to my finances. At least my current obsession is FREE which is even less than $12 shipped.

When I go, I go...and it won't be pretty or make the wife happy. Still stuff all over the house from the old days and that's with a lot of stuff missing.

I don't think there was anything, in that time period, that could beat a Penley shaft. If they(Tour Light & esp. the Stealth 70) were still made today, and the same way, companies would still be hard pressed to beat them.

I still play a Sonartec Md 23* it has a Ust Irod,81 grams mid launch shaft
shaft is a gold color great club into the wind very low launching great punching out under tree branches lol
I also own a Sonartec GS tour 14* driving cavity with a made for Sonartec GD red ice 70S shaft is pretty Wonky and couldn't replace my Ashton X1 with an accuflex vso2 one of my favorite clubs all time

Like-mindeds always do. You wouldn't believe this, but I actually prefer this. The other stuff is just too important, though.

Rather be reading about putters, irons, wedges, balls, drivers and fairways for sure. When I look for golf items it feels so foreign yet so familiar. I guess I need a tiny taste of it to feel connection to the world that I remember and am losing from my perspective. Rather be telling you Ping sucks opposed to a synthetic substance.

Perhaps, I'll buy that Sonartec driver and go hit it when it comes...If I re-start the sickness. I did buy a putter back in 2018. Stupid thing came on a very hot day in Texas and head came off. Have never putted with it. Gotta do that one day.

iirc, and I do have good memory cells still, some of the Sonartec clubs were deemed non-conforming. The bad memory cells won't let me remember the markings of those.😲

I don't care about that. I think my TourStage driver might be non-conforming, but, like you, I don't remember for sure. Been a long time since I cared about such things.
