As bad as I played today, it was not due to my iron play. The Acer XV Pro is one outstanding playing head.

Just got 6 holes in with the Pursuit forgings. Very similar performance to the Acer XV Pro, except for feel. 1035 carbon steel on graphite is so soft, sound and feel. Our #9 hole is a short 3 par over a pond. I dropped a 9i in there tight. These were bent 2 degrees upright, my Acers are std lie. I struck these a tad better. Same shaft, same grip.

Played 18 holes today with the newest XXIO Prime driver, 10.5 R flex. Remember, XXIOs R flex is basically a fly rod, 35.5 gram shaft. This one has a draw-bias heel weight. It's just like the last model. Easy to hit straight, muted sound (but louder than the Callaway), ball stays in the air forever, and rolls out nicely. It's longer than my Mavrik Max and SWMBO'S Rhapsody for me. If I had $900 just lying around.........

How good were you swinging today? I wonder how well you’d hit that lightweight shaft when you aren’t having a good driving day? I’d just worry about consistency with that light of weight.

Additionally, my PING Eye 2 SW and LW were $ today. Matrix Ozik graphite. With those and the PING NOME, I had my best round of the year.

I reached out to Ping to see if I can get a new Zing 2 SW and LW. They said they still have some and had me call a local Ping distributor. Waiting for a call back to see what the damage would be.

Have you ever tried an XXIO with their stiff shaft? Is that still a noodle?
