This reminds me of a situation while I was a 911 operator. A caller called 911 to report that he had gone into the ditch
and wanted someone to come out to help remove his car. This was at approximately 3 AM and I could tell by talking to him that he was very likely drunk. I tried to save him some trouble and money by telling him that I had no one on duty at that hour in that area and he really didn't need police presence to pull his vehicle out of the ditch but I would call a trooper and get him out of bed to come out there if he really wanted one. His response was, "Ya, call him and get his ass out of bed. Those lazy shits don't really work anyhow. I'll meet him out there." I called the trooper and told him exactly how the conversation went down and he responded to the scene. When it was all over, the trooper called me from the jail and said it was the easiest DWI he had ever gotten. The guy, drunk, had come out driving his other car so the trooper didn't even have to prove he was drunk when he went into the ditch. By the way, he already had 2 prior DWI's on his record. π€
