azgreg I think it depends on your prescription and what you might want for frames. For the last 20 years I just need glasses for driving (near sighted). That's an easy Rx and I've gotten glasses from 39dollarglasses and Zenni for as little as $25. The frames are just ok, but I can afford to leave a pair in my wife's car and at work.
If your prescription more difficult say for transitions, bifocals or whatever and you want better frames then Costco or Target might be a better choice for something good, but reasonable.
