Yeah, nothing will change regarding the use of par. It's aspirational, but will never happen. And again, there's nothing that can be done about golfers becoming better athletes (bigger, stronger, faster etc.). They will never be able to regulate that.
The USGA is so out of touch with the average hacker. Not everyone has a country club background and can play golf at a somewhat high level. Most golfers don't have a handicap, don't play in tournaments and struggle to break 90.
And a very, very small percentage can break 80.
Only 1.6 percent of handicap index carrying golfers are scratch or better. And only 10 percent of American golfers have a recognized handicap index. Again, they make these rules for a very small percentage of people that play golf.
