darpar The NCAA has been a farce for years in just about all collegiate sports.....they need a total REBOOT!
They make a boat load of money off these kids, while most of the athletes make squat!
Good luck!
The NCAA is a nonprofit. 90% of its income is redistributed to member institutions for scholarships, travel, academic services, compliance, and drug testing. The remaining funds support the NCAA's operations.
Individually, only 25 of 129 FBS schools turned a net generated revenue (median profit per school was $7.9 million during non-Covid 2019, while median loss was 15.9 million) and 0 of the 125 FCS schools reported net generated revenue.
Likely ... the only way to trickle money down to FBS student athletes would be to pool all revenue after removing all sport programs other than football and basketball, and limit coaches salaries (total of all coaches salaries exceeded amount spent on all student athlete scholarships). Don't even try with FCS.
