Yup. When there’s a disruption you have to answer. LIV fired the first shot and the PGA Tour has fired back.

Time will tell if these changes will deter players going to LIV. Limited fields, bigger purses and getting the top players competing against each other should help in that regard. Time will tell.

Yes the $500,000 for the Korn Ferry Tour shows that the PGA Tour is still interested in developing talent and not just buying talent like LIV.

This should take the 'left side' out of play for almost all coming out of the collegiate ranks. Mommy & Daddy should be handling the affairs at that time, so 1/2M should go a long way. If the parents are honest people. Plus, it will help them to secure any financial backing they will need to get started. Win-win for the kids and their parents, imo.

And if this applies to those also, it will make life real easy for those guys....
The Tour will also start a travel stipend program, giving $5,000 to each player for every missed cut for non-exempt members (126-150 category and below).

Dick Tater has shut the door on this option.
Imagine that.
And they wonder why so many jumped, so soon, with no regrets.
I doubt you'll see any comments in that regard, imo.
The more things the PGA changes, the more "I told ya so's" you're gonna hear.
Also, like a poker hand, there's still an option to "raise" for LIV. The hand and game is not over yet.

Monahan said no. They can’t come back. Asked about hypotheticals. In light of the lawsuit he said it makes no sense to talk about it at this point.

If LIV continues to offer "signing bonuses" as an incentive, I imagine they'll still be some players that make the jump. Plus the team aspect allows player to make good money even if they don't have a fantastic week. Assuming equal distribution of team winnings, Taylor Gooch and Pat Perez got 1.5 million each just from the team payout over the past two tournaments on top of whatever they received individually. I'm sure DJ and Patrick weren't too disappointed with the extra 1.5 mil ea. either. Or perhaps, given the speculation above, the wives probably weren't too dissatisfied with the payouts 😂. Assuming, of course, that the cash is actually flowing as promised.

I call it as I see it, objectively.
I was equally indifferent to both tours, however, given the way the PGA has handled things, I couldn't care less about them now. I think the "management" and their minions are arrogant d-bags and obvious crooks and hypocrites.

There's more than a few guys making WAY more $ on LIV than they were making on PGA Tour (recently). If they're smart (investment wise) this could be setting them up for life even if it fizzles out in a year.

Anyone who plays well enough to retain their tour card for even just a few years should have earned enough to be set for life (unless they have very extravagant tastes!) - every player to finish in the top 125 in the 2021-22 season had at least $1m in tournament earnings. (Yes, there are significant expenses that are part of playing on tour, but also the potential for sponsorship and other sources of income through being able to play the game at that level.)

"Set for life" probably has many interpretations. My point was getting rich quick. There's a few young guys who 've only been around a few years that made the LIV jump. Wolfe might get to retire at age 30. 👍
