Mattyv Hate to say this, but he's #1 in my book. Esp. when he was paired up with Judy Rankin. I think he has a disliking for Faldo, from his mannerisms when they are together.

Mattyv Same here, not a fan. Same with Tirico. I want to hear from golfers, I don't need talking heads to lecture me on golf. Minus Koch--prefer Gannon over him. Understand many here don't like Faldo, but I think he is good (now), much better than when he started. Haven't seen much of him lately, but I think McDowell needs to move to the announcer gig.

Gannon don't bother me. I loved the NC State 30/30 (?). I bawl like a baby.

Fair enough. I think he sometimes focuses too much on some of the negative play by the golfers. It is almost like he hasn't played the game and doesn't know what it takes to be the best of the best.

Johnny Miller could get away with this because he had been there.

Gannon is the play by play Nantz/Summerall. Faldo has the Miller/Venturi/Rankin color job. I divide them up that way.
Ken Venturi and Judy Rankin were/are 10x better than Faldo. Dottie Pepper and her constant blather about nothing golf related are getting on my nerves though. I noticed that yesterday at Riviera while she talked about nothing with Frank Nobilo.

My all-time list of great golf announcers. Pat Summerall, Ken Venturi, Bob Rosburg, Judy Rankin, Peter Alliss, Johnny Miller, Verne Lundquist "Yes Sir", Gary Koch "Better Than Most", Roger Maltbie, Steve Melnyk, there are others I can't think of but that's a start. McCord and Feherety I leave out because they became to much about their schtick and good announcing kind of passed them by.

I don’t pay much attention to announcers and when I saw the name Terry Gannon I didn’t even realize he was one. Rankin has been one of the few I listen to. Miller and Faldo can get my attention from time to time. So can McCord and Feherty as entertainers.

Me too, never heard of him, though I'm sure I've heard him. Don't pay much attention to those guys.

Dottie needs to be asked questions and only answer. When left to speak.. DRIVEL. Faldo is trying to be to cute. Nobilo is OK, but stuck with those two dunces.

Euro tour announcers kick butt on these guys,. Terry Gannon.. not bad.

Really Liked Judy Rankin. Brought lots of value to the Broadcast.
