FauxAmish That Westley's is what I have used for years, exactlly as you have detailed Pete. Takes about half an hour. Like having new grips.

It brings SuperStroke putter grips back to life too. I think I got this from Peter years ago. It works really well on Velvet grips but very well on most others. Great for resale of clubs too.

I bought a set of 13 golf pride mcc align plus4s off eBay for $65. I held them up to one of my legit ones and inspected the hell out of it. I couldn’t tell them apart. Fakes or factory blend? II loved those grips but sold those clubs. Now I probably got luck because my father in law bought some tour velvet plus 4s off eBay and not only were they not plus 4s they felt thin as women’s grips. He had to put a bunch of tape build up to use them.

Anybody move to Grip One grips from Golfworks? They have some velvets and non-taper offerings.

toraider I had some Grip Ones several years ago. Took them off, and down to the Police station. They thanked me for the Billy clubs. Don't know about today, but they were hard as concrete.

Avon chamois have anyways been my friend. Did fill cord for awhile when my hands sweated profusely, but age slowed that down.

I just bought 13 Karma Midsize Velvet grips on Amazon for $26. I had a gift card I needed to spend. They will be delivered tomorrow. I am cheap and will not pay $5-10 per grip.

But the grips aren't. Merely inexpensive. They are much improved over past gens.

Weirfan I think I mentioned Westleys before on here. Been using it for years. I hardly EVER regrip anymore. I actually spray Westleys directly on the grips and rub the shit out of it with a brush and a towel.

Grip prices are manipulated. In 2004 GP Tour Velvet was $1.99, today it's $4.99. Allowing for inflation, that $1.99 grip is $2.76 today. It's not just grips. A TTDG shaft in 2004 retailed for $8.75 now it's $23.99. I know there are other factors that influence the price of goods, but I suspect price gouging is one of them.

$1.99 grip and a $10 stock shaft at $500 next best high tech driver huge huge profit margins by the big boys. They are big boys because of their huge profit margins. Note they aren't discounting as fast as they have in prior years. They still discount but not as much and as fast.

Golf is a 'safe' thing right now, but later on, it will be the last thing that people will do(get to do for a lot). Mainly, "families" are going to be back doing things together. And it's not going to be golf. It will be travel, etc.. The things that could not be done safely.

There ya go. $1.99 grip $10 stock shaft. Tell me they aren't making money. Nobody would pay $2b but you gotta start somewhere. TM was in trouble before KPS bought them turn and flip. I really don't think it has anything to do with Covid though many would like to take every topic and make it political. I don't.
