meagain - We didn't have an ice storm that put our available power into emergency status. The power lines are still intact in our state. In fact, we've known about the frigid weather coming for 10 days - 2 weeks. If a citizen knows, you'd think the electric companies would be able to forecast further in the future. The FAIL was they couldn't (can't) generate enough power quickly using the renewable energy sources and the nuclear station/coal fired plant to make up the difference.
Temps are forecast to get back to above freezing by the end of the week so we'll get back to some sense of normalcy. Funny, we've been warned about the 'bad guys' wanting to hack into our grid and cause the loss of power in cyber warfare.
