meagain Don't know how you pulled that one off. 9 degrees in Memphis right now with a projected high of 14 and low of 4 Fahrenheit. Least we get to stay on the right side of zero. Snow for the next few hours. Supposed to get 3 - 6 inches. 6 inches of snow is basically a once every 10 year event for us and the temps. may be about a one in every 25 - 50 year event for us. I can only remember it being close to this cold twice in my life for this area.

25* right now in western NY but we're also expecting 7 - 14" of snow over the next 24 - 36 hrs .... we accept it and so we deal with it. Rather have this amount of snow than 1/10" of ice

Par4QC Had one over in Iowa the other day. Even smashed a Trooper's car.

That's a fairly common occurrence. It's amazing when a troopers car is all lit up with various color flashing lights someone can run into it because they were gawking at an accident scene. I remember several similar crashes while I was working in the 911 center. One in particular happened while I was "on the air " with a trooper getting accident information he looked into his rear view mirror and said oh God, he's not going to stop and then I heard the crash and the trooper grunt like he had the wind knocked out of him. This trooper lived in my hometown and was a friend of mine. He just passed away a couple of days ago (not related to this crash).

Had a 1963 Corvette convertible, 327/300 automatic body-off restoration, from 1976 to 1991. Went to Presque Isle almost every year looking for parts & meeting up with other clubs for volley ball & picnics. Great memories & many fun weekends.
Still go to shows from time to time but usually just cruise nights, love to look at everything. Did you have a classic?

Feel for you. Those temps suck. I know what that's like. We used to get below zero temps here all the time, but don't think we have gone to 0 for over 10 years or so.

This is the longest stretch of -20° nights that I can remember for some time. We usually get one or two nights of -20° but this is about a whole weeks worth. It's supposed to start warming up a bit on Wednesday and we may see above zero temps then and it may reach +32° by Sunday. I can only imagine how many dollars worth of fuel are going into our furnace during this stretch of cold weather. I've been keeping our garage temps up so I can work on my golf simulator too.

bogeypro Have a complete body off in progress of a 73 convertible. 4 speed. Had a 63 split window that I bought for $850.00 from a coworker back in 1970 I think. Sold my mint 93 this past summer. Do you have anything now? Took the body off my 73 40 years ago, just got it back on this past fall. I know, I'm slow.

Sounds like you've had many fun cars. When I had the '63 my daily driver was a '67 Chevelle SS big block w/Turbo 400 trans & front disc brakes, car was from Arizona so the body was solid. $850 for ANY Corvette at ANY time is highway robbery, you got a great deal. I've slipped into a comfortable retirement and no garage space for a summer fun car so I don't have anything interesting now. We get around in a Mazda6 or an Accord, both very vanilla but dependable.

bogeypro We have a lot in common (too bad for you), I had a 66 SS Chevelle when I bought the 63. When the 454-450HP engine came out I had to have one. Compete engine including clutch and bell housing for $760.00 from Berger Chevrolet. Of course back the I think that I only made like $2,25 an hour so the Vette had to go. With skinny cheater slicks I could lift the wheels. What HP was your Chevelle? Plus I also drive a Mazda CX-5.
