Soon, it will be so hot I will not want to open my front door. I lived in Vegas 3 different times. I would choose the AZ heat to Texas heat every single day. Dewpoint, humidity and bugs vs. that dry AZ/NV heat? Give me that AZ/NV heat all day every day.

I'm happy for you. It must be fun watching everyone else deal with this misery. When I was out in the garage looking for things to go sliding with, I noticed I hadn't protected one of the pipes to the water heater. Had to wrap a blanket around it. I'd rather lay pipe than wrap them.

DFW was issued its 1st ever wind chill warning. Dangerously cold. I saw some stat flash on the screen about 15 people being treated for hypothermia. Not sure if that's just Dallas, or where.

I have until Tuesday morn to decide whether I want to return an eBay item or just eat it. I think I'm going to brave it. Gotta get my 16 bucks back. Can't let the seller get away with sending a known defective item to me. 😂 May cost me 300 fold if I get in an accident, but principle, bay bay!

We were hit by a rolling blackout at 208am. Lasted for 11 minutes.

I called the power company and the automated greeting stated there would be rolling blackouts until they got the word from ERCOT that the power situation in Texas had stabilized. So, we may see this over the next week.

It was an ominous feeling having the power go out knowing it's 10* out with wind chills below 0. You really notice the wind when that power goes out. Desolate feeling.

So wonderful to have it back. You can't know if this is a scheduled blackout or if it's something else. Concerned it was going to be out all night.

Weird that during the summer at 100+ degrees and everyone running AC, there's never been a rolling blackout. Now, when it gets cold, we get them? Perhaps, less people have AC than I think, and more people have heat. I guess it takes more energy to heat something than cool something.

Another rolling blackout hit at 248am. Lasted 11 minutes.

We heard that there might be 20-30 minute rolling blackouts. Unsure if that means we'll be hit by another one here shortly to get past 30 minutes worth, or if we're all set for now.

I wish they'd publish a schedule of these.

EDJT: 3rd blackout 338a to 349a. Lasted 11 minutes, again.

EDIT: 4th blackout 428a-439a. Lasted 11 minutes.

My gosh. 44 minutes of blackouts in the wee hours. How many times will they interrupt "Damages" and my internet research? And, how many times can I reset the clocks? 😂

EDIT: 5th blackout 508a-519a. I'll bet those getting up for work, today, are real happy their power went out as they were readying themselves.

EDIT: 6th blackout 548a to 559a. This is getting ridiculous.

EDIT: 7th rolling blackout 628a to 639a. Read this may happen through Tuesday. My wife works from home and won't be able to do what she does if there's blackouts every half hour or so.

EDIT: 8th rolling blackout. Seeing some people in Houston have been out completely since 2am. 5 hours without power there. At least it's not quite as cold there.

Strangely enough it is missing us up here in the snow belt and supposed to be in the mid 20's today.

meagain Don't know how you pulled that one off. 9 degrees in Memphis right now with a projected high of 14 and low of 4 Fahrenheit. Least we get to stay on the right side of zero. Snow for the next few hours. Supposed to get 3 - 6 inches. 6 inches of snow is basically a once every 10 year event for us and the temps. may be about a one in every 25 - 50 year event for us. I can only remember it being close to this cold twice in my life for this area.

25* right now in western NY but we're also expecting 7 - 14" of snow over the next 24 - 36 hrs .... we accept it and so we deal with it. Rather have this amount of snow than 1/10" of ice
