scotts33 Golfers beat themselves up to much cuz they can't shoot par.
I don't know of anyone trying to shoot Par, ever, when playing in any group I've been in. And alone, that thought has never entered my mind, except on the 2-3 wild days where I actually did it.
I play several different courses every summer, Par 70, Par 71, Par 72. My play is even more varied than those numbers😆. But I generally know each course well and know about what I'm going to shoot before I ever go out, swing be what comes. A couple courses I merely hope to approach 80, and if I break it, it feels like Par.
I never base how I played by using the Par #.
Even if I were to move up to the very forward teebox, I would never think I'm going to shoot/break Par. Even on the easiest course.
