9 holes even par. Today was the worst i can ever remember hitting the ball. One good drive on 9, one good flop shot on 1. Everything else not even close being passable. Just haven’t played or practiced because I’m too busy with everyone else’s requests.

It's a rule that you can't say you played badly to even par. It's a rule........ seriously. Unless you just want everyone to hate you.

Not really. Plays like crap and still shoots even par. The odds eventually have to kick in and he’ll shoot over par. Then he’s human. lol

Wasn't happy with my round yesterday so I snuck out for a late twilight. Shot 80.
Last round I was hitting everything short and a bit right, especially on the back.
Same started today, then I realized I was just getting lazy. You gotta put some impetus behind it. Distance came back and straight to a draw ball flight.

I know. I get conflicted. One day I bunt, top and flub my way around to an 80 with a bunch of short game saves, then I hit it crispy and solid and the putter goes cold for an 85. I'm definitely more encouraged by the latter.

I agree, same here but at a different level obviously.

Push my par 3 tee shot, didn’t draw into the sand. Up and down for par.
Next hole heel cut a drive, pull my PW left side of green. 2 putt from 30 feet.
Next hole low heel a drive on the par 5. High pushed second shot with hybrid into junky lie. Thin a pitch on the green and 2 putt for par.

Well I shot 36 for 9 holes this morning! The bad news is that the par was 30. 🙃

I played a local muni for the first time. Carried a light bag and made it around in just over an hour, with very little waiting. I hit some enjoyable shots. OTOH, twice I tried a greenside chip out of rough with a 6 iron, having to carry 15 or 20 yards, under a branch. That’s the definition of jail, I guess. Doubled one, bogied the other.

I’ve always liked good nine hole golf. This area has quite a few. I have at least four more to try.
This was Green Meadows in Westmont.

I carried 4w, 5H (25°), 6i, 8i, PW, SW, and the Ping Pal I bought new 45 years ago. I’ve had this Sunday bag for a while. I recently bought a used like new double strap on eBay that matches perfectly. (For cheap.) It is only attached at the two points but works great. The whole kit weighs less than 10 pounds.

Forgot to mention how good of shape all these courses have been in. Most of them have bent grass fairways.

I need to scale down my wardrobe. I brought my country club attire, but these munis are tee shirts and cargo shorts. NTTIAWWT.

😉That may be my schedule this week also. No golf though with 110 heat indexes. Mornings around here would actually be the worst times, with little wind. Think..... 'sauna'.

Par4QC Rather get our 9 in early, later in day afternoon pop up showers/t-storms and stifling humidity. I'm a walker so not playing later than mid-morning.

I started using a Bridgestone E12 Splash and they seem to help on the wet dew sweeper golf.

scotts33 Used to be, around here, that when temps got above, say 93, the humidity would drop. I used to go out a lot of afternoons and play. No bother from heat. Not so much the past 3-4 years. Humidity doesn't go down even over 100* now & that can be a killer. If the wind is up, 20+mph, I might be out.

I can remember playing at 103 more than a couple times.😉

Have settled on a 16 hole routing on my home course🙃, 10-17, 2-9. Sometimes I will have the place to myself on the latter part of the round, but this routing ends on the best holes. 3-9 are very good holes, sometimes i will do 2, 6-9, 3-5.....toss up between 5 and 9 as the best hole. 5 is ~ 380y , with a doubke valley, tee shot down hill to uphill to a ridge at about 140y out and then back down the hill and back up to perched up green that is guarded front right by ga good sized pine tree. Nice opening front left to run it on. Drop offs front right all the way around to back right. Very good hole. Bombers can get the ridge. Average hitters won't and you will have a semi blind approach depending how close tonthe ridge you get. There js a flag pole for aiming and the pine also helps. Best to come in from left side of fairway to avoid having to cover the pine a d allow for a run up option. The run up area is very firm! 9 is ₃₇₀ and a hard sweeper right to left , you almost cannot hook it too much on this hole but there is a massive oak tree just left off the tee which does not allow for cutting the corner....then from there a row of cedars thatnare maybe 25-30,feer tall. I have hugged the left side with a lowndraw and caught the last cedar before they angle left. High draw us better. There is also a big ash left center that you need to be 230-240 tonget past. Again a solid hook will be on that path. Slight draw works best or a 230-235 straight all before runnjng out of fairway. The approach is fabulous to that is flat until about 30nyards out then a sharp/steeondrop off tonthe green which is severely sloped back tonfront a d left to right. Pines guardi the back and right of green. From 150 out the green is not visible, until you get to 140 you can start to see the back edge and maybe shoot the top of flag. The slope feature will not show up on the rangefinder however and must be factored in. You can choose to bounce it up or fly it on. Pick your poison. Very much a mom and pop design.
