Walking with your bag on a cart feels like being a pro and is so much easier. I did that during covid when I didn't want to ride with another person.

sdandrea1 I've also packed a light carry bag and ride in the cart holding it in front of me and then walking into the green after hitting my 2nd shot.

Played with a guy the other day who's bag had a detachable little Sunday bag he could take with him. Never saw that before.

Walked 18 again, mostly because SWMBO is out of town and the sun came out and the temps hit 62. Rediscovered my Brian Sparks swing. 81. Life is good and I've recovered a little gain on Father Time. Wore my Merril low cut hikers and it makes a huge difference in foot support and stability. Still hurts walking down our two looong downhill treks.

Typhoon yea, wouldnt be something i would use. But it was interesting as it was obviously sold as a set with the regular bag and the detachable sunday bag with stand.

81 today. I was chasing a sub80 round after a 40 on the front, but the bogey train got me on the back. 9 bogeys, 9 pars. Quite a few up and down, 1 putt pars. I'm a shit-ton more accurate with chipping when the Alpha MDC blades are in the bag. They rolled the greens this morning just in front of our group and they were perfect. ODYSSEY putter was $ today.

14 birdies putts today. Made 1, the shortest one at 4 feet. Total for the 14 holes, +2. I think I know what I need work on.

OR maybe I just buy a new putter!

Played twice more in Florida since hurting my foot. Just taking half swings. Shot 86 both times. If I could just get a few more yards with driver I'd play this way all the time. I'm choking down with driver to the end of the grip, same with 3 and 5 wood. I only get about 180 with driver this way although i did get one to 200. If I could get 200 all the time I'd play this way
So easy on the body. I could have played 36 today ( except for the foot).

Played with a guy yesterday, 60 years old, and he was driving it 325-350 all day. Tall, lanky, strong and smooth. He was 6'4", and his sons are 6'6" and 6'8". One is a pitcher for the NY Mets, the other is a pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers.

The distance was amazing, but man you have to be locked in at those distances. Off just a little, and you are off the course.

Par4QC Oh, the sons weren't there. Spring training. I suspect the Dad scored mid-70s, as he did have a couple of shots go AWOL. But he definitely had the skills to go really low.

78 (40-38) at Timber Greens. Had one birdie. Nothing out of the ordinary. Hit some good shots and not so good shots. lol 48 degrees when we went out and 69 went we got done.

Played again today, same idea, short backswing, no shoulder turn except the little bit they have to turn when you lift the club, arms come up only to my belt. Choking down 3-4" on the driver and FW's.
I think this is a revelation for me. Played 18 yesterday and could easily have played 36. Same today. I'm usually sore and stiff after playing, not the last two days.
Driver goes 175-180 for the most part but did get one to 216 and 200. # wood also tops out at 180 but really straight. I need to get a few more yards with driver. Going to start trying to choke down a little less. Shot 84 with a mediocre short game.

Still cold and rainy here, so I went to the simulator for a round. Played Oakmont at 6100 yards.

Hlt some good ones and some bad ones, but kept the ball in play, putted and chipped well. Had six bogeys, nine pars, and three birdies, for a 74.

On my way out I glanced over at one of the other bays, where a guy was hitting his second shot on the 18th at Pebble Beach. He was 31 over! Made me feel like a pro, lol.
