Typhoon Even all the high prices places on our area are over $100

It is nuts. I'm starting to feel like my semi-private course is still a bargain even at full rate. I keep saying we should at least raise the cart price for non-members, but they've raised it like $2 in the last 8 years. It's only about 2 dozen members over 40 that walk the course. They could raise it by $10 and everyone else would still ride.

I'm headed to Orlando area for our yearly golf trip and the golf is now the most expensive part by far. We are almost $140/round average for 5 weekday rounds....that does include carts at least. We avoided the weekend to keep the price down....right. The AirBnB where I get my own room and bathroom and access to a pool, hot tub, et al is only $75/night.

Typhoon Golf is extremely addictive.

I think a lot of the really bad players who keep coming back and paying high prices aae just trying to escape their horrible lives, maybe get away from their wives, too. Everybody knows that golf takes a long time, so it's the easiest excuse for them to be completely away, for a protracted time, from whatever it is they are trying to escape.

Typhoon People are nuts about golf. I don’t get it…. Because Most people suck at it.

And there are not as many people that are good at it, and they play as often(maybe more) also.

I used to bowl, and was really good at it. Avg. over 200 when over 200 was something. Won tournaments/awards/moolah, local fame😆.
I bowled with & against those with 125, 140,160 etc. averages, who were the majority.

I only quit when others like me got to thinking like you do. 🤔

79 at Timber Greens. Had one birdie. Haven’t played in a while because of the cold mornings. Drove the ball well. Ball striking with irons were off. Short game was good. Greens were fast. Nice to get out and wear shorts again.

I just had the most fun golfing tonight than I have had in a long time. We played night golf at a course called Grass Clippings. If you are familiar with AZ local courses, it is Rolling Hills. 18 Par 3's under the bright lights for the small fee of $161 after tax.😮 My neighbor played with our group and was gracious enough to drive me, and I decided to play the round opposite of low.😉 I also decided to bring out the 1990s Snake Eyes Smith and Wesson irons. Butter knives. I randomly pulled out a ball from my bag that appeared to be from the same era. I got around that course with that equipment at 19 over and tied my good buddy who was playing his normal setup.
There is something different about playing in the cool evening air. It was probably about 57° when we finished at 10 pm. We had good tunes playing and a very relaxing vibe. I didn't even care about my score. I did care about playing all 18 holes with the same old ass ball using old ass equipment, and I did it.😁 I have lost dozens of balls on that course in the daytime over the years. It was a fun internal challenge that I didn't even share with my buddies on the course.

First time out since early November and it showed. 48-48 but I managed two birdies.

Beautiful day. Started out in the 60's and was 73 when we finished. It took slightly over 4 hours but it was CPO.

77 at Tarpon Springs. Had two birdies. Both on par 3’s. The second was on # 17 where I thought it was going to be DejaVu all over again. I yelled drinks!!! But to no avail. This time it was 145 to the pin with a 7 iron. Must’ve rolled right by. ⛳️🏌️‍♂️

85 today as our course FINALLY reopened. First time walking 18 holes since 2008. I survived...... we'll see what tomorrow brings. The course is so wet, no carts allowed probably until late next week.

I know. Hope I feel ok tomorrow. The right knee is pretty much shot and hurts on the downhill walks. We have two long ones.

That sucks. I sometimes have the same issue with right knee and left ankle. They are fine on flat ground and even uphill, but downhill can be painful some days. There are 3 holes on our back 9 that are steeply downhill for a bit. Hopefully they have some sort of exoskeleton for me to use 10 years from now lol.

sdandrea1 Maybe a couple walking rounds and a couple riding. It’s like when I go to the gym more, the pains go away. You gotta exercise. And going up and down hills is good because it works some different muscles.

into walking.....

Typhoon I will walk the front and ride the back ... occasionally. As obvious as it may seem, playing a 9nhole round and walkjng js always an option too! My home course has several options of different points to switch off too.....of the course is not busy!

Whenever I ride in a cart, I let my partner drive if he's willing. That enables me to grab a club or two and my putter and walk into the green after hitting my 2nd shot. I've also packed a light carry bag and ride in the cart holding it in front of me and then walking into the green after hitting my 2nd shot.

Walking with your bag on a cart feels like being a pro and is so much easier. I did that during covid when I didn't want to ride with another person.

Played with a guy the other day who's bag had a detachable little Sunday bag he could take with him. Never saw that before.
