Too hot to play real golf, but since I hadn't played in so long, I decided to try a new place in our town called X-golf. I had never been there before. It was a really great set-up.
I chose Coeur d'Alene over Oakmont (among others) because I wasn't sure I was up for that much of a challenge.
Anyway, I hit the ball pretty well all the way around, with only a few bad shots. Putting was a learning process, and I had a 4-putt and 3 hard lip-outs. I made the turn at 41.
I went all Typhoon on the back nine, starting the back birdie-par-birdie, and then getting to three under before having a slight blow-up hole (double).
But I steadied myself and finished with a fourth birdie on the back nine, to shoot 34, for a total of 75 (despite a four-putt).
Overall, I was very happy with my play today. I know it was just a simulator round, but it's possible to play like crap on a simulator, too, and I didn't.
