After a mediocre 86 on Tuesday where I hit a mere 4 fws I went out today just to try to get myself to stay behind the ball with the driver. Started out shaky, parred the two par 3's 4 bogeys on the 4s and 5s. Then on 7 made a 50 foot putt from off the green for par and then went birdie, birdie for a 37. 6 pars, 3 bogeys on the back for a 39-76.
Was driving the ball really, really short all day. Sub 200 yards. It rained all night and this morning but I don't think that was it, the ground was still reasonably firm. Hit every FW but 2 though.
It doesn't really hurt me to drive it short on this course as there are lots of short holes (320 or so) that I can easily reach even with a bad drive and the long ones 440, 420, 414, 412 I can't normally reach in two anyway, but man it's not fun hitting 180 yard drives.

Shot a 42. Used hybrids and a 3 iron off the tee with the driver used only once, as the back nine is a little tighter and I hit them consistently well. Only one badly struck ball and a number of putts running over the holes prevented me from going lower.

garyt1957 Hahaha! it’s been hot/cold on the ball striking side. Something is still off. Scraping it around and just didn’t feel like continuing.

Played for the first time since August. Shot a 52/44 96. Breaking 100 is good for me and the 44 was my best ever 9. Had an eagle on a par 5. Second shot I hit my 7w to 8 inches from 210. Played the Cobra Aerojet One Lengths for the first time and it was the best I've ever hit irons. I have no dea how far they go yet but the contact was fantastic.

Shot 84 in a tournament today and finished 1 stroke out of the money. Played really well when it wasn't raining but made some triples when it was. Can we not have a weekend with decent weather? Got soaked but it was fun with some good friends.

7 bogeys, 11 pars, 14 fairways. Best ball striking round in months and no idea why. I quit thinking, quit watching videos, quit trying to fix my swing. Just relax and swing. Hope it lasts. I will note that my knee is SIGNIFICANTLY better, pain wise. Not sure why. I'll take it

sdandrea1 Good thinking… same reason I’m stopping for a few weeks. Need a reset. Sometimes you keep trying this and that to the point of being so messed up.. you need to just stop.

I shot 38-41-79 this morning at The Legacy in Ottawa Lake, Mich, one of the best courses we play. I was cruising along pretty well, but ran into trouble on the back 9 with 2 doubles and 2 3-putt greens. 7 GIR, 1 birdie, 31 putts.

Bravopilot The Legacy is one of my favorites, even though I don't play it very well. A couple of long walks from the green to the next tee, which I don't care for. The picture above is the 18th, which is a tight driving hole with water left and right.....and today it GOT me.....☹
