DonM I don't blame you for bailing with that late of a time. I mind the heat a lot more than I did 10 years ago. I don't necessarily feel like I'm going to die out there, but I can start feeling fatigued and it affects how I play.

Got stormed out of the morning league I was going to sub in but it cleared up this afternoon so went out to the slumpbuster. Well, I certainly didn't bust any slumps. Shot an 85 with only 2 GIRs. Can't say a positive thing about any part of my game today.

We got rained out this morning, but 2 of the other diehards and I went out later and played 18 at Detwiler Park (a city of Toledo owned Arthur Hills course). We were pleased to see that the new management company the city hired has done a GREAT job of cleaning the place up and whipping it into very good shape !! I shot 39-39-78, hit 6 GIRs, no birdies, and 31 putts.....We will definitely be back!!!

fatshot That can’t be an Arthur Hills course. Where’s the bunker or tree in the middle of the fairway?

DonM. One of his earlier efforts, LOL. And I also think he took into consideration that it was / is a municipal course, so not as penal as some of his others! There is a rather deep bunker in front of the green on this hole (#9, a par 5).....it's just not visible from where this picture was taken.

Solid 40 in league last night and a win. Just bogeys and pars. A few bad breaks led to bogeys, but a few good ones made par easier. Great back and forth match. I couldn't make a putt, but chipping was much better. Hit some great drives too.

On our #14 hole (~ 410 yards) I was in right rough about 175 yards into a little breeze...my shortest drive of the night. I hit 7i about 15 feet above hole....I was playing for front of green lol. I felt like @Typhoon although that would probably be a 3/4 9i for him.....and he would made the putt.

        fatshot Detwiler Park

I played that course a number of years ago visiting friends in Toledo for a bowling tourney. What tee box did you play? 78 is damn good for over 6000 Whites. I enjoyed Detwiler Park very much.

Came together a bit today. Played 18 because for some reason the course was empty. Birdied the first 6 out of 7 holes than parred 8 and 9. Birdies the 10th and 14th on the back. Missed makeable ones on 17 and 18🤬. Ended up -8.

Drove the ball extremely well with the g400 max and something new I’m doing. Irons came back a bit, still working on them. Wedges were money when I narrowed my stance a bit amd keeping still on putts brought back a good stroke again

Anymore (we're all over 70), we just play the senior tees.....about 5700 yards. Detwiler Park IS a nice course, but they've let it go to hell the last couple of years. It looks like the new management company is working hard to bring it back to what it should be. Yesterday it was in the best shape I've seen it in years.....I say good for them!!!

How's it going Buzzers! I've been away for a little while. I haven't been playing much do to life. Daughter graduated high school, I strained my rotator cuff and took 6 weeks off and I have been busy with every thing else under the sun.

Been on vacation since last Saturday in the beautiful SF Bay Area. Got to go out and play today at the Presidio Golf Course. Shot a 47-46 teeing off on #10 to start. Awsome golf course if you are in the area. Temp was 56° with a solid 25 mph wind for the front nine. Wind stayed but warmed up enough to lose the sleeves on the back nine.
My shoulder is all healed up so I should be back to playing on a regular basis and posting a bit more on here. For my own sanity, I had to block out 99% of golf related stuff to keep from rushing back into the game. Hell, I only watched the last 4 holes of the US Open!

            Mattyv welcome back!
Congratulations on the daughter making it through H.S., and your vacation! Glad you took the time to heal, and are back playing.

My new swing has been slipping away from me . Had to go look to see when I first posted about it and it was April 30th. So it lasted about two whole months but might just be done now.
Played today and shot 47-43-90 , two 8's on the front killed me. Hit 9fw's and 8 GIRs but nothing felt really good. Probably back to the drawing board soon. I hate to give up on this swing as I get absolutely no back pain from it.

garyt1957 Just take a day or two to go back to the beginning and see if you can find it. I've been using the same basic swing for 20 years and this still happens to me. That's golf.

Partner and I only managed even par in a 2 man scramble. We just couldn't hit greens. My irons and hybrids stunk. It is tropical humid.

On the bright side some of my parimutuel bets had a good Day 1.

garyt1957 A swing thought lasting 2 months is about 6 weeks longer than I get out of them. You came out ahead IMO. Hopefully the next one will come soon and last as long.

Second and final day of the member member tournament. I went 37-43. Two doubles, one birdie. My long putting was great but I missed a few inside 5 feet. 😡 The heat was rough, I heard some guys couldn’t finish their rounds.

My partner lost his swing yesterday for the scramble and still had nothing working today. He felt terrible about it but what can you do. It happens.

It looks like I have a winner in the parimutuel. Yeah baby.

Another blah round 44-40-84. Nothing worked. I suck.
Edit to add: it was even worse, I forgot to mark the 9th hole so that 44 on the front was actually 50! My handicap has jumped from 10.3 to 12.5 in a couple weeks.
