Got out for one last nine-hole round this morning with my dad at a different course.

Today I hit the ball really well. I only hit maybe three bad shots the whole round. Putting was atrocious. Had three 3-putts in the first four holes, but because one of them was a 3-putt par, I was only two over at that point.

The 14th was a short par 4, maybe playing 210-215? I hit a 3-iron hybrid to 12 feet and made the eagle putt, which put me back to even.

I parred 15β€”17.

18 was a dogleg left par 5. From the senior tees it looked easily reachable if you cut the dogleg. I aimed to cut off a lot of it, but then I tried to kill it, pulling it pretty badly inro some long weeds. I hit a beautiful provisional. Never found the first ball. Hit 7-iron to 2-feet, making eagle on the second ball for a par.

Bottom line? Shot even par even though I had three 3-putts and a lost ball 2-stroke penalty! I felt like Typhoon out there today. 😁

Only 7 FWs hit, but was trying something with 2 different drivers. And was only out a couple feet on ones missed.
8 GIRs, more than my norm.
2 birdies, and 'just' missed 3 other short ones.
27 putts.
And......one 3 putt!!🀬

Summer in Sept. for the next week or so. Hot, but no humidity.

sdandrea1 I did play with a guy a few years ago that, during conversations, I found out he was 86. Had a like new set of BeCu Pings, and under-clubbed every damn shotπŸ˜„. Also played 'woods'.
Also while talking (because I asked) he related he had been club champion a few times at his CC. I could tell from the way he swung/played, other than the mis-clubbing.
Had to play outta my butt to clip him by 1 shot.

77 today with 9 greens and 29 putts. 2 birdies and no 3 putts. I’m making a lot of putts right now. I parred all the par threes. Had a couple of doubles.

The last two rounds, I’ve switched from my normal 45” 50 gram driver setup to 44”, 60+ grams, more head weight and bigger grip. I’m more accurate and I’d say my average distance is about the same. I might lose out on the absolute longest drive, but overall it’s helped my scores.

I shot 40-39-79 this morning at Bedford Hills GC in Temperance, MI. A unique course, it has three nines (Buckeye, Wolverine, and Irish), two of which are mostly in Michigan and one in Ohio. I played with my brother-in-law, who has been diagnosed recently with Parkinson's, so we rode. He has some challenges, but still plays a pretty decent game (middle 80's). 5 GIR's, 1 birdie, 29 putts. Course in excellent condition!

I played in the weekly club tournament which today was a flighted quota with skins. I came in second, 5 over quota, and got one skin.

Shot my third straight 77. 10 greens, 30 putts. I missed some real good birdie chances, but I also made a big bender for birdie from 35 feet, and chipped in for one from 40 or 50 feet. Both of those were par 3s. I had a third one from short range. I've been on a birdie binge lately. That's not usually part of my game.

I finished the round with a 7 after missing the green by 10 yards on the short side. If any of you ever watch Golf Sidekick videos, this hole would have had the tuba music playing. πŸ˜…

Went around 2x. Got involved in a 2 man scramble. 1st 9, we went around all 9 at -1. We got the 1 birdie on #3 when my partner put it on the green, and I made the putt.
The 2nd time around we started off with a birdie on hole 1, par on 2, then my partner hit the green again on 3, and I made the birdie putt. We made out only bogey on #6.

Played my first round in about a month since my Dad went into the hospital. Ran out to the slump buster because I can play 18 in 2 hours there.
Forgot to add up my score but figure it had to be 78-82? Had two birdies and two doubles and the rest pars and bogey.
Made back to back birdies on the two longest holes. 245 yard drive (!) and then a 208 yard 3 wood to 6 feet, made the putt. Next was a 513 par 5, on in reg and sunk the putt.
This was the first time all year I played that a course played firm. It wasn't rock hard or anything but you got some roll out.
Fun to get back out thete during a stressful time.

garyt1957 because I can play 18 in 2 hours there.

Where is this Shangri La golf course? I don't care if I need a hammer to get a tee in the ground, 18 in 2 hours is the dream!

There is town course about 10 minutes from my house that pre-pandemic you could play 18 in 2 hours on certain days at certain times. Now you probably won't get 9 holes done in that time.

KCee My main course usually only takes around 2.5. But lately, even mid-week afternoon, it's been backed up to at least 4. No clue as to why everyone is out all of a sudden. And they play sloooowwww........🀬

KCee It's just a local low level course in the middle of the city. Gets tons of play from leagues between 3:30 and closing and of course weekend play but earlier on weekdays it's usually open. They have 3 18's so plenty of times available. Usually I have to jump around some groups and go back and play the holes later but 2 hours is usually doable.

Can't play golf right now. Several weeks ago I hurt my foot. After stepping out of a greenside bunker I did my usual tap my shoes with my wedge to get the sand out so I don't trapes sand on the green.

Only this time I missed the sole of my shoe and banged my wedge above the sole and right on my foot. OUCH!!! Hurt for several minutes, but carried on with little trouble.

Fast forward a few weeks after playing golf with no issues and all of a sudden I'm limping and the whole lower side of my right foot hurts and it runs up above my ankle. Tried to play golf, but had to quit after 9 holes. Hurt like a bastid.

Made an appointment with an orthopedic doctor for next week to see what's going on. It feels like a bone contusion with a high ankle sprain. Weird there was such a delay in symptoms. Hopefully an x-ray will show no real damage.

Played Poston Butte today in Florence AZ. Nice Troon course in excellent condition. 43-40 from 6400 yards. Had 10 fairways and only one bad miss on the 4 I didn't hit. 6 GIRS, which is good for me and 28 putts. I was +1 after 7 holes and +7 after 9 holes.🀬 I have been shooting decent lately and in the last month have taken my handicap from a 13.3 to a 10.9. Playing again tomorrow on my slump busting easy track.
