Played 9 with my dad in Utah at a cool track called Talon's Cove on the west side of Utah Lake. Never played it before, using clubs I don't know, etc.
Hit 'em really well today. Had two bogies and the rest were all pars. Good times. Perfect weather, too.

Was trying to beat the temp again, but the forecasted high of 76 never made it; only got to 73. And I had 3 of the nastiest strokes ever on #18, to set up an ending bogey.
Last weekend being Labor Day weekend and today being NFL opening, I cannot believe how packed the courses were both Sundays! And slow AF.
Great weather, but summer is coming back for the rest of the week.....upper 80s/lower 90s.
I did an emergency reshaft over the weekend. I put the iRN shafts back into my irons, took out the heavier, stiffer shafts. Today I hit 10 greens, so the universe is back in balance. 
Front 40 with a birdie, double and triple (just a bad bounce, basically)
Back 37 with two birdies

I again missed some good looks at birdie from 15-20 feet. Just like last time, they were right on line and just short. The LAB putter continues to make me better, though. And Aimpoint Express, definitely, although nobody wants to hear about that.

Agreed! I have been playing around with a Cobra 3D Printed Agera Armlock Putter. I definitely see much the same as a Mezz same roll same low dispersion rates at the hole. Tech in putters is real and I'm more of a traditionalist. I can see the improvement in performance tech allows.
Eguller Hmmm. Imagine how great Corey Pavin would have been if he had ditched that low tech Bullseye putter.
I'm no Corey Pavin and if tech can help hackers I'm all for it. BTW, do remember Pavin played Cleveland VAS irons the most high tech shovel irons of their time for that 1995 US Open win at Shinnecock Hills.

Typhoon Youāre judging that based on watching pros, who almost all take a long time to read putts no matter how they do it. I walk partway to the hole, quickly feel the slope, then go hit the putt. No walking around to look from other sides, no books, no plumb bobbing, no asking my partners to look at it. Often I can get my read before itās my turn. I make sure not to slow down play for my reads. Anyway, letās not re-litigate this here.

I've seen no one, ever, use this system outside TV, and I've seen no improvement in putting stats since it become 'something'.
And I would never use it myself. If you do not 'look' at the putt/the line, read the green....from down low, you're gonna miss something.
And usually that is an easy putt, that you made harder than it was.
Par4QC Itās greatly improved my reads here on these greens. The more Iāve done it, the better Iāve become at it. At this point, itās so simple.
I think youāre one of the one percenters who are gifted putters. You definitely donāt need Aimpoint.
Do you know enough about any proās putting to know that they havenāt improved with Aimpoint? I donāt. āI see them use Aimpoint and miss a putt, so Aimpoint doesnāt help.ā ?

DonM Was playing with a couple of fellas the other day that I'd just met. I had a pitch onto the green, then putted the ball in with my SW. On another hole, I chipped with my 8i and proceeded to drain that one also...with the 8i. 1 guy just looked at me shaking his head, and I said...'just showin' off'

I shot 39-40-79 at The Legacy Golf Club in Ottawa Lake, MI this morning. Played well on the front, then lost it for a while on the back, but finished with pars on the last couple of holes. 8 GIR's, 32 putts, no birdies, 1 D. bogey, including a penalty. Course was in excellent condition.....lightening fast greens!
DonM Don, after reading your trials and tribulations with putting over the past couple years I think, and if you think about it, I might be right, that now you are not over reading things and more or less putting blindly and it works better.
You would listen to us and over complicate thingsā¦. I think. Now, like Rex says, and I agree with the āI donāt putt with my feetā thing is itās simple and youāve taken the overthinking thing out of your mind and just hitting the putt.

It's a short dogleg left par 4, around a pond. It's possible to drive it in the bunker if you're trying to play safe,
or in the water if you're trying to cut the dogleg short. I lucked out today....pull-hooked it left, and JUST cleared
the water so I only had about 60-70 yards left to the green! 
T7 in a charity scramble today. -10. No mulligans or string nonsense. L to R, nephew, sister, PapaD, SIL. Nephew and SIL are bombers and overall good players. Sister and I are high functioning geezers, but we all contributed.
Had a special opportunity today that might not come around again. I played 9 holes with my father (who is 91) and my 30-year-old son.
The course was really nice. The greens were in impeccable shape, rolling very fast.
Unlike two days ago, my irons were not very good, but, again unlike my last round, the driver and putter were much better.
I had two holes where I wasted shots around the green, both involving wet bunkers, and ended up with doubles on both holes. On the other hand, I also had two birdies. Almost had a third on the last hole.
Score the same as yesterday, but by different routes: 38.
My son doesn't really play much, and isn't very good, but he hit some great shots, including one drive that must've gone about 290 (using my old Bangomatic ).
Overall, a great day and a fantastic opportunity.
