How did you shoot today at Golf

Did 18 with Jake yesterday. Not a good day with driver in my hands, for some odd reason. Straight/in the fw, for the most part but the lousiest hits I've had in weeks. FW clubs were no problem though, which held the score down. Putting was so-so, but no 3s. Did put a different wedge in the bag and was chipping/pitching like a Pro once again. I'll take the 81, which I blew up from 79 on the last hole.

Got Jake an 'upgrade' from his Rocketbladez irons....SIM2 Max. He was killing them. Even said they are longer, which is scary to watch, and very amusing at the same time. Hit a 5i off the tee on 1 hole and went around 300. He hit 1 GIR from 377 off the tee, but missed the eagle putt. I would/will go watch this kid even when I can play no longer! His last 2 rounds have been 72.

I did hit this new irons on a few holes and kind of wish I had them also. Haven't hit irons like that, distance/effort, in quite a few years. Felt great. (I do envy those that can hit irons all the time, and not have to rely on hybrids and such.)

Great day, sunny and only 71, nice breeze that felt cool for 6/30.

Got out for nine this afternoon. High 70s, very windy, with a steady 15-20 gusting to 30-ish.

Was able to play the back nine for the first time in a long time.

No score, because I was by myself and the course was nearly empty, so I played two balls fairly frequently.

Legitimately parred 15, 16 and 18. Had a VERY fake eagle on 17. Because the course was really wet, they moved the tee box way up on this par five. Also, my first drive faded just a bit, so I hit a second one, which I crushed. Hit a smooth 7-iron to about 18 feet and rolled in the putt. So it was a par five but played like a decent-length par four, and I hit the second ball only three times, but it WAS the second ball.

My worst score was bogey, so no blow-up holes.

I generally hit the driver very well. The irons were a bit hit and miss, but mostly they were good, especially later in the round.

Overall, given the wind, I feel like I played pretty well. I had a ton of fun and really wished I had played 18.

80 at Plantation Palms. Had two birdies. Hit some great fairway woods today. Hit some nice chips and pitch shots as well.

81 today at Lee's Hill. Worst ball-striking low 80's round in the history of everything. Solid tee shots, effective chipping and putting, but gawddam everything in between were skulled runners that chased straight up the fairway. Gonna have a 2 week break I think. Closing on Wednesday and the fun starts.

My wife and I ran out to Lakeview Hills Resort for a couple rounds. They have two courses. We played the older South course yesterday. Front nine was pretty blah. Back was way more entertaining. Lots of elevation changes, uphill holes, downhill holes, up then down on the same hole. Shot another mundane 91.

First time getting to play TPC Summerlin with a tennis buddy this weekend. Very fun course, and being with a member was super beneficial. Had a 44-40 for an 84 with 36 putts. Pleased with how I hit the ball, but I the putting needs some practice.

I shot 40-40-80 today at The Legacy in Ottawa Lake, Michigan. Hit the ball pretty well, but today the chipping and putting (usually one of my strengths) were not very good. I did manage a birdie on the 18th to help make the score look better than it was. 7 GIR's, 33 putts. This morning I won an auction on Ebay for a SeeMore FGP mallet, so
next week, WATCH OUT, Lol......!!

Rough day today. A smooth 98. Must have taken a dozen penalty strokes. Couldn't putt or anything else. Started off really well too. Nice day with the wife though.

43-46 = 89
Back to back one putts ( 8 and 10 ft) on 17-18 to break 90.
Damn, have I lost distance over the last 4-5 years.
Time to hit a serious workout program and find a way to get a draw off the tee. Could a softer shaft help?

Based on my experience, a very high torque shaft will help. Try an A/L flex FGS Plus untipped from Diamond Tour or the iDrive Tour from Monark. Ignore their specs, they are super high torque. They are not the lightest but they will assist a draw.

With modern drivers I am not convinced that draws go farther, but that’s another discussion.

VigilanteTrail LOL! No these guys are mid cappers like me with legit handicaps. They just had 1 of those nights where they didn't do anything wrong. My opponent was just chipping like a pro; his partner was great too, but just didn't have the same luck.

The hole out on #1 was world class as he was short sided in heavy rough with the green steeply running away; a par would have been amazing.

He almost chipped in again on #2 from at least 30 yards.

He pitched it to a few inches on #4 although he had a nice lie there.

The chip in on #5 was also near impossible; if he didn't drop that one in it was off the green.

The chip in #6 was fairly mundane given the others lol

IIRC these guys did the same to us last year only it was my partner's opponent that went lights out and shot even par. Apparently we bring out the best in them. They should probably pay us to play in tournaments with them lol.

A good thought and yet I'm still trying to evaluate this approach.
Larger, more forgiving heads and lower spinning golf balls......not sure how realistic this thought might be.

So I had no intentions of playing today after my dismal play of late but I had put a couple clubs together that I wanted to try so off I went to the Slumpbuster. Played a different 18 then usual, (it's even easier) Par 71 5400 yards. I played about 5 holes from the back so I wasn't hitting wedges into greens so often so I probably [played about 5600 yards.
Ended up playing in 2 hours and 20 minutes but I never played two holes in consecutive order, I was jumping around so much. Ended up shooting 38-37-75 which even on such an easy course is a huge improvement over what I had been doing. 8FW's, 9 GIRs, 31 putts, 1 birdie.
Changed my swing a tad but stayed with the general idea of what I had been doing.

I went around once today. I caught up with a buddy and we played 9. I hit a 9 iron from about 160 out, I dropped the ball to the right of the green in the rough. It seemed like everything I hit was going another 10ish yards, then again it was at least 90° here. I wasn't scoring well at all, my mind was not really there today. I did have a 1st today, hole 7 is listed at 80 yards from the back tees, and about 70 from the forward tees. This is also the hole that the 2x a week (Tuesday and Friday) hole in one contest is held on. One dollar buy in, winner gets 1k, and a 10 free play card. Today I hit a 9 iron with a 1/2 swing, watched the ball fly up to the fairway, and I turn and head to the cart. My buddy is standing there watching my ball, so I turn and watch it roll above the hole where I expect it to stop. It keeps rolling, now towards the hole where it dropped out of sight. I just stood there a little dumbfounded. I had a poor round score wise, yet I got my 1st hole in one. The next hole I doubled, along with the 9th hole. Go figure...
