How did you shoot today at Golf

Very nice day but breezy.
83 with 5 greens and 31 putts. My putting was much, much better. I switched from a counter balanced mallet to an anser style, and I lined up the ball. I hit my start line way better today and made some good putts for pars.

The bad holes were really bad, though. The wet dormant Bermuda around the greens can make you look real stupid. I’m in my third winter and I still struggle.

We had a 73 year old shoot 72 last week. He said he’s shot his age a few times. Jeesh.

DonM it's been damp and a little easy to chunk a wedge here. I've been using a 9 nine iron to bump and run, just to get onto the green. I did use my 7 iron to bump and run from about 95 yards, got onto the green and 2 putt bogey...

Yeah I need to do that more often. Today I was always down in a deep hole and had to use loft.

DonM I just started doing that late last year. Only because I was hitting my wedges fat, and when I didn't hit it fat, I skulled it badly. 9 iron was the best way to avoid that issue.

82 at Tarpon Springs. No birdies. Drove the ball real well.

Gave up on the PXG Blackjack putter, just didn't feel right. Put the good old PXG Closer back in the bag today.

Hit 14 greens in regulation. The 4 misses were all good misses, got all chips within 6 feet. And yet still, 35 putts. Miss 4 greens, no lost balls, and still shoot +4.

It just goes to show you it's always something.

Played the simulator yesterday. Stone Canyon golf club in Oro Valley, Arizona.
We played a two-man scramble. My partner and I shot +1 with 5 birdies. Fun day when your hitting the ball good.

Nice day today but windy. Cold front coming in as I type.

I shot 82 with 6 greens and 32 putts. With the top half of my bag, I'm a 6 handicapper. With the bottom half, not counting putter, I'm a 16. I'm killing my fairway woods with the electric yellow FGS Plus shafts. I was on a par 5 in two, which is real rare for me. Driver, then XR16 4 wood, and it was all carry, not rolled up onto the green. That is a lot of fun for a weak sister like me. I had a 70 foot eagle putt with big break and got it to 3 feet for birdie. I birdied another par 5 and par'd the other two. One of them I had to use the Acer SR1 7 wood to get there. It was a great shot. Our par 5s are tough because of fairway bunkering and guarded greens. I am sure I averaged lower on the 5's today than on the 4s. I had four 6's on the par 4's today.

Because: still missing greens with short irons, and the short game was OMG awful. The last two rounds should have easily been in the 70s. I need to do something before I get the chipping heebie-jeebies.
