sdandrea1 I still contend that there was some luck involved in the ball finding the hole.

The only time a HIO is luck is if it is off line and strikes some object that caroms it back into play and into the hole. Shithouse luck, I believe they call it.

Standing on a (ex.)150 yd. Par 3 hole, a person will pull the club they hit(maybe) 150. They are looking at the green and intend to hit the ball towards that green and cup. If it does go towards the green, and it goes in....HIO, that was an intended shot, no other way to look at it, esp. as "luck".

It just makes it that much clearer as to how many 'pure' shots we may hit in a lifetime. Golf.....is a bastard game.

Yeah, one of the guys in our old quota group had one of those. It bounced off a bunker rake and took a 45 degree turn into the hole.

Still waiting for my first, but I don’t want of one of those. 😏 Had a chance at one yesterday. Smoked an 8 iron to a back flag (140) and yelled my typical "drinks!!!"

Ball disappeared from view, but when we got up there it was 5 yards past the hole just off the green. Sometimes I yell, "be the right club today!!!"

For awhile I thought I was jinxing myself so I didn’t yell anything.😐 But now I’m back yelling. 😲
Might need a new yell. Like "get in the hole you bastid!!!"

Sneakylong Did it carom off a standing rake, or one that was on the ground?

When I was a teenager I watched a guy blade an 8-iron right into a standing rake. It then bounced off the rake at just the right angle and speed to roll right into the hole.

      It was ridiculous.

The rake was laying flat, just above the bunker which is just in front of the green on an upslope. Basically a trick shot. lol

39/46 for 85. I chipped real nice, inside 10 feet many times. But didn’t hardly make any of those. I’m missing left with the armlock putter. It’s a very solid stroke but I can’t aim it. At least it was a beautiful fall day.

Sneakylong So the one I watched was probably even more unlikely, bouncing a rapidly moving and rotating sphere off a standing narrow cylinder and somehow having the collision steer the ball right into the hole. It just might have been one of the most unlikely holes-in-one in history.

I went around my little course once today. It was so busy that we were waiting on every tee box, most of the time with the group behind us. On the bright side, at the worst, I 2 putted everything. No birdies, a couple of pars, I finished at 10 over...
I had a few beautiful shots, and I had some shitty ones. My wedge shots were all a bit short today, that sucked because I had to chip over a bunker and I put it into the bunker. I had a good time going around...

bigshank You we’re lucky on the frost. Last weekend our first groups went out at 10:30 AM. Yesterday they said screw it and closed for the season. They made enough money…300-400 rounds a day all summer, multiple tee shots for every player made it more like 4-500.

Typhoon multiple tee shots for every player made it more like 4-500.

            So 100 rounds for free??

I went around 3x today. The 1st time I went around and finished 6 over. The other 2x I didn't keep score. I was having too much fun with the 3 guys I joined.
Hopefully @LogicalOne gets an order for a putter from one of them. One of the guys didn't have a putter, so I was sharing mine with him. He was going on about how much he liked it and wanted one. I made sure to give him the website.
Had a couple great drives with the new logicalone nuero driver. It was a great day of golf!!
