Yeah, it's the male ego. Fox Hollow doesn't put out the back (Black) tee markers (over 7100 yards) unless they have a PGA qualifier because too many would try and play from there. The Blues are ~ 6800 yards which are the furthest back.

Women are much ''smahter." lol They always play the appropriate tee. I have no problem playing behind a group of women. They tend to hit it straighter and move along quicker than men.

Didn't play, but I took a lesson last night. Sorted out that I should probably ditch the hybrid and add a fairway wood (5 or 7). You would think I'd be better with a 4h than a 5w, but no.

Thought the Heavenwood would be a great club, but pro said it was too spinny. Unfortunately EVERYTHING is backordered. I was actually hitting the pro's M3 5 wood, but he didn't want to sell it. Sadly I had two different 5 wood heads, but sold them both not long ago...doh! Might order myself a Maltby KE4 Tour head as they look nice.

Made lt out for nine after work today. Still trying out a new grip and a new swing idea, so there were some really bad shots but also a lot of quite good ones, especially with the irons. Hit 5 of the first 7 greens, which is good for me.
Didn't really hit driver too well, but then on the ninth hole I got one out there 255, which is 95th percentile for my drives, at least. Maybe 98th. So at least I think there is some potential in this new grip and new swing thoughts.
Had one double bogey, but nothing worse and a lot of pars, thanks to the irons going straight now.

Played Maumee Bay Resort. It is a link style course, considered to be the best in the Toledo area. Fast, hard greens, fescue everywhere and always windy. I started snapping my driver on the front and after hole 8 I laid the driver to rest. I shot 43 on the front and 35 (-1) on the back. You have to be in the fairway on that course. I eagled the 18th when I hit 2 three woods to the green. Feeling pretty good.

It's the club centenary this year, and the competition today was one of the events to mark the milestone - not much difference in practical terms, although I have a feeling that a fair number of players took advantage of the free shot of whisky or gin on the first tee...

The first few holes were a bit frustrating - nothing bad, but just enough out to make pars hard to come by - but started hitting better shots from the 7th on, and finished with four solid holes (apart from missing one drive a little to the right (on a hole where left is bad) and misreading a few putts, I hit every shot pretty much how I wanted to). 77 isn't a good score on a day like today - sunny and mid-50s with a light breeze - but decent after being +5 for the first 6.

It's likely to be 13 holes rather than the full round tomorrow, as I have an appointment for my first Covid vaccination in the early afternoon.

Happy centenary! We're at 125 this year.

Today, Captain/Vice Captain day, 4 man Texas Scramble, 1008 tee off. Vodka and coke after breakfast just to take the chill off (it was windy!). Flying front 9 of -5 with beer'n'burgers at #8 tee had us dreaming of glory but we woke up and bogeyed #18 for -6, 53.5 with 'caps. Not low enough for the prizes, had to settle for a few beers instead.

Personal highlights? Driving was accurate as it's ever been if not as long as it used to be (we're all getting older ...). Putting was good for a change, finished out a few holes from awkward distances. Birdied #10 on my own after my 3 partners all missed the fairway - solid drive to middle of fairway, 140 out, 7 iron to a couple of feet, rolled it in for birdie.

Good fun day, and I haven't given up hope of winning a raffle prize yet. Also been invited to sign up for the Seniors League team (60+) which might be fun ...

Well, today I got to play. Went around 4 times, shot a 38, 39, 45, & 42. I figured that I got off to a crap start as I went double on the first 3 holes on that first go round, then I got settled down and started hitting shots better.

Went out yesterday after not playing since Jan, 91 deg and some humidity in northern VA, slight breeze helped. Walked with pushcart--bad idea, very bad. My golf game reflected the bad idea, some good but many tired fat old guy shots.😎

13 holes as expected today - just didn't have enough time to play the last 5 before my vaccination appointment (AstraZeneca, for what it's worth - still early, but no issues yet). I played a bit better today - +3 for the 13 holes - with one birdie at the 11th notable for the approach shot being my first on-course shot with a new 46° Vokey SM8 wedge (95 yards, to 6 feet).

i210s - 5-9 with slightly tweaked lofts to cover a wider range of yardages (which allows me to go with 4 wedges), AWT 2.0 regular shafts, orange dot. Midsize grips, which is the first time I've tried them - initial impression from the wedges (which also have midsize) is that I should have gone with the larger size earlier...

47 on the 9 holer I've been playing every other week or so. Only 17 putts - no 3 putts. The lesson I took last week really helped. My driver on the other hand… usually the best part of my terrible game. But today was rough. I didn’t even see the ball off the face most of the time. Lost a bunch of balls off the tee

Played 18 with my son and a new golf buddy. The guy just moved to Phoenix from the Toronto area. He got paired up with us randomly a couple of months ago and was a decent human being. We adopted him and he now has 4 rounds in with us.

Played a city of Tempe course called Ken McDonald. Shot 43-42 with a 9 on one of the par 5's on the back nine. Hit 10/14 fairways and 7 GIRS. Not the best round but a solid round.

5 rounds of 9 hole match play this weekend. We finished 2nd in our flight which was not too bad considering we got hammered our first match and only tied the 2nd, but won the next 3. I pretty much played every other hole really well. Struggled with the G400 SFT a lot so maybe time to shorten it up to 44.5"
