108 at a difficult and very hilly country club course. Blasted a 315 yard drive on 1 and made par. Stuck my tee shot on the par 3 10th to 6 feet and drained the bird (only birdie in our 4 some all day - other guys mid 80s to low 90s). All in all it was a great round for me.
My iron shots were all good strikes. Not all on line, but good contact. I’ve started swinging the club instead of hitting the ball. Game changer for me.
The diver was erratic. Two were over 300 but a few weird snap hooks mixed in. (I had cultivated a pretty consistent baby fade). A few high toe strikes still did well. The Mizuno ST-Z 200 is very forgiving. I’m not getting on with the Hazardous Smoke Blue shaft, however. It just doesn’t feel as stable as the Paderson Kinetixx TS-D2. It also feels short at 45 vs the 46 I usually play and I think the stock regular grip (vs the midsize +4 on the bottom I usually use) is leading to my hooks.
Lunch on the back patio post round: Troegs Field Study pint, BBQ pork egg rolls over coleslaw, Jerk chicken wrap with pineapple and mango salsa.
A great day out with friends!
