I drove to the course today and it started to sprinkle. When I got they, we discussed not playing but a look at the radar showed it should be ending soon so we decided to play. It stopped by the time we teed off and stayed away the rest of the day. It actually turned out to be a pretty nice day.
Apparently we must have been the first ones off as we never saw anyone ahead of us all day and the course is a links type layout so it doubles back on itself. It was cart path only, but we managed to get around in 3-1/4 hours which was nice. It's probably the fastest round I've had since I left the private club I was a member of more than 11 years ago.
On the front, I shot 47 with no pars, but of the back I managed 5 and shot a 41. It's the first time I've broken 90 in a while. The driver was inconsistent, but I never really got in any trouble with it. I struggled a bit with my 5 wood. The irons were decent, especially on the back nine. My short game was better than it has been as I figured out something with my pitch shots. I'm also trying something new with my chipping around the greens. I think I only had one three putt.
All in all, a decent day.
