Went to the high end driving range yesterday. First time since they are re-doing what was just a very nice covered range with overhead heaters. They have Trackman now and you can see some data and play some games. I wasn't hitting the ball very far, but it was still pretty cold and I swung easy to protect my shoulder. I was hitting it much straighter than I have been so maybe the tempo drills have been helping. Still a lot of toe shots, but nothing thin and hardly any pull hooks or push cuts.
It was fun, but the Trackman didn't seem all that accurate at times. We watched drives clearly carry past the 200 yard marker and the data said ~ 180 carry and some were short but then read +200 carry. I dropped a 7i on the 150 flag and the carry was 130. I landed an 8i about 140 and the carry was 170. Other times it was pretty accurate.
I was able to beat my buddy while we played Pinehurst, but mostly because I was better at pitching to the 45 yard marker which was used instead of putting. It was a bit tough to aim as they are still working on the landing areas and there aren't enough markers to aim at. Price is a bit high and they are missing out on a lot of money by not serving drinks, but it's fun.
