sdandrea1 Eguller You could mop up with a GoFundMe page until they found out your HOness. I think I might enlist George Santos to sponsor me. 😈😂
Bravopilot sdandrea1 Yes sir, had some time drinking coffee in Odessa, TX. Boy, the Permian Basin has a unique smell to it, hard to take.
DonM Well I shot a 67. But we only played 14 holes. 🤓 We played the Disney Magnolia Course, and the last 4 holes are under renovation. Obligatory shot of mouse ears bunker.
johnnydoom DonM My wife and daughter are heading that way this week on a school band trip. Not me - I get to stay home and pay for their trip.ðŸ˜
fatshot johnnydoom DonM My wife and daughter are heading that way this week on a school band trip. Not me - I get to stay home and pay for their trip.😠My granddaughter's band is making that trip in March (to play at Disney World). We're going to FLA then b/c daughter / son in law can't get off work. It'll ONLY cost us $200+ apiece to get in to watch her play!
DonM Bravopilot As they say about stockyards, that’s the smell of money. Anyone ever been to Mosinee, Wisconsin? They have a big paper mill. Man does that town stink.
Bravopilot DonM Ft Worth Stockyards in fine, been there many times, no this is a residual gas/oil business smell
DonM Bravopilot Oh I know. It’s an industrial wonder of the world, but it’s ugly and smelly. It’s a real throwback to another era.
Subsonic Bravopilot Next time you do the cross country drive I am going with you and eating Taco Bell. You will learn about what residual gas smell is really like.
DonM I was humbled by my driving distance today. I’ve been playing on hard, dormant Texas fairways and getting 40 yards of roll. Today in Florida the average rollout was 5 feet. Ugh.
Subsonic Question: Are these band trips some kind of money generating deal? The only reason I ask is I have a buddy whose kids play soccer and a lot of the tournaments are money generating scams. A resort will have a "tournament" and the only way you can play is if you stay there etc...
fatshot Subsonic Question: Are these band trips some kind of money generating deal? I suppose it is for the Orlando tourist trade!! Our granddaughter's band in Columbus has been doing fund raisers, etc. for the past year or so to help the kids and their families afford it. Don't know what the bottom line is as far as how much each kid will have to pay, but I'm sure Grandma and Grandpa will help make up the difference.....
johnnydoom Subsonic Question: Are these band trips some kind of money generating deal? I presume so. It is some sort of national competition in conjunction with ESPN. Last year the band did not stay at the resort, but quite a bit was still spent at the parks. This year they are staying at one of the park hotels. Basically just a fun trip for the kids (that can afford it), but they do seem to take the competition seriously. Possibly a good résumé enhancer since band scholarships are apparently a pretty big deal at some universities.
Bravopilot johnnydoom Is school out or will they just miss one week? BTW, drive through Memphis of course, and still get a chuckle with the Pyramid bldg for Bass Pro Shop Duck Unlimited place. Hard to reconcile the brand with the building
johnnydoom Bravopilot They miss a week. School is still in session for the rest of the kids. The Bass Pro definitely doesn’t fit the exterior. The interior is great and I presume Bass Pro must’ve gotten a great deal on the real estate since nobody had any clue as to what to do with it. Still hard for me to believe fishermen and hunters will drive downtown to shop. I love to fish and I’ve only been in it 3 or 4 times in the years since it opened.
Bravopilot johnnydoom Good point but still a great location in my mind would have been a great outdoor bar/restaurant or condo. Not that the Mississippi is a great water view but I always like being near the aqua.
