I had a rough, discouraging finish today. I’m sure everyone has suddenly lost their swing. When you are holding the club, wondering what it is and what you’re supposed to do with it.
I lost it on the 15th hole. I doubled 15, 17, and 18 to shoot 83. Awful swings over and over.
I hit a great shot on the long par 3 16th with a new favorite club, Callaway XR16 9 wood. I took the 4 hybrid out to make room for it. I also had the 7 hybrid in the bag today. We have two holes where you can be in the middle of the fairway but need to hit over a tall tree. The 7 iron is iffy but the hybrid goes way above them. Love it.
Before the collapse, I got us a greenie and a sandy. No birdies, though. The greens are going dormant and are becoming super fast. Putting is an adventure. I hit three beautiful shots on a par five and was 6 feet above the hole. I literally just nudged the ball, it just missed and kept going. Three putt from 6 feet. Bah.
Our D player must have set a record for the most sand shots attempted in 18 holes. And unfortunately he was no bueno from the sand. When he did get out, it was often bladed over the green. I felt bad for him.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
