Nobody play this weekend ..? Golf_ghirl back to work Monday from an extended Easter break so she booked us a round with buggy at 3pm. Wrapped up well as you never get to operating temperature in a buggy, especially with the cold snap we're currently stuck in.
After yesterday's disaster I wasn't expecting much but single putted the first 3 greens for pars, 2 more pars, 3 bogeys and 1 double to the turn in 39 (par 34). Par, par, bogey, bogey ... this isn't a bad round and the snow flurries are infrequent, might shoot a low number here - then as we putted out on 13 the temperature nosedived (it didn't have far to fall, to be honest).
OK we're in a buggy so let's skip a few holes on the way in. Past 14, someone on 16 tee so we'll play 15, a par 3. Tee shots away, someone switched the lights off and the hail/snow started to get serious. By the time we got to the green it was white, and there were a few groups in front of us with no room to duck in, so headed for home instead. By the time we got there the sun was out again of course (still snowing a little though).
That's early spring golf in Scotland for you and those of you who have it worse have my sympathies, and we also get home in time for live Masters coverage.
