76 (41-35) at Timber Greens. Won all three matches, plus all three 1 hole matches at the end. Won two of the three greenies. Had two birdies. Won a grand total of $14.00. All facets of the game were very good.

It was 53 degrees when we went out at 7:30 and 73 when we finished. Beautiful day. Had a meatball sub and fries for lunch. Excellent.

I shot 40-39-79 at Giant Oaks GC in Temperance, Mich today. (Same course we played last week). The
Ben Hogan Edge irons I bought late in the year last year have worked VERY well so far this year......in fact,
I did not hit a single Fat shot that caused me to choose my Golf Buzzer name!! Hope I can keep this up!!

Finally got a chance to play my first nine holes of the year. After a rough start, I played pretty well down the stretch. I had a 10-foot birdie putt at number 7, but missed it low. Par on eight and good drive followed by airmailing the green on nine (but right at the flag; wrong club choice).
Still, one oder on the final three holes gave me some hope. Best not to talk too much about what happened on the earlier holes. We skipped six because the people in front of us were really slow and we don't like that hole much anyway.

Won our 1 best of 3 ball on a three way team bet with partners of 13 hdcp and 18 hdcp. I Birdied 3 of the last 6 to seal the deal. Good day as Sneakylong says. Protein bar for lunch. 🙄

Played quota game today. 4-man teams, gross scoring. We were on the hook to make 89 points. We made 109 for first! $9 each.
Bogeys =1, pars=3, birdies=5 points.

2nd and 3rd place was 3 & 4 strokes behind us. If one of our guys hadn't birdied the last hole, we'd have been 3rd. Handicaps are good.

sdandrea1 No, it’s just one group sandbags better than the others. All seniors? Where I used to play the seniors played a 9 hole quota and if you weren’t at least +4 on points you were out of luck. It was hilarious…Watching them get pissed if someone was +8 and beat their +6. But they had fun.

sdandrea1 I think Quota tournaments usually favor the mid to high cappers. Our Fall Shootout has an 18 hole Quota qualifier and you don't see many of the single digit guys qualify even when they pair up with a high handicap.

I was shocked last Fall when a team consisting of a scratch and a 5 made the Shootout. We lucked out when they 3-jacked the last hole of the Shootout (true alternate shot) to hand us (a 14 and a 22) the victory 😁

That was our experience with our quota game. With the high handicappers doing pretty well. We had a guy who kept the stats on this.

He eventually stopped emailing out his stats because guys could see how much $$ they were losing. Lol

In Fort Lauderdale for the week. Golf is pricey here. This was our first round of the year so we wanted a mid level course to muck around. We played Colony West in Tamarac. It was $60 a round. Same course in Michigan would be $30. It was a nice enough design, just rough shape. Tee boxes were a mess, fairways pretty thin and the greens while in good shape were like velcro. I started off 9, 8 and couldn't hardly get a ball airborne. Settled down to salvage a 46 on the front. Started out fine on the back then had a two hole blip where I went 11, 8 for a 51. Smooth 97. Ugh.

Played The Club at Emerald Hills. Top notch course but still pricey at $110. Better courses in Michigan go for $65-70. Very nice though and almost felt like an island course with all the palm trees. Greens were perfect and as fast as I ever remember playing. I even putted one off the green and into the water(think the par 3 at Sawgrass but this was a par 5). And I was putting away from the water but the sloping was so severe. Several pins were in really tough positions.
I hit the ball way better, 10-14 fws, 7 GIRLS but 38 putts for a 92. Just couldn't score

81 at Heritage Harbor. Only had 3 of us today so we played 3 six hole ($2.00 each) nines games with the middle guy skating. Plus greenies. I skated twice and lost one. Plus I lost all 4 greenies. Had 2 birdies (back to back).

Ended up losing $6.00. The high handicapper negotiated 3 strokes for each 6 holes. 🙄 Guess who the winner was? 😕 We told him the matches were determined before we teed off. lol

Came home for lunch and had a can of sardines, saltine crackers and diet ginger ale.
